why is Acend's run a fluke???

Acend won Masters 1 EU (was doing good earlier in the year). They even 13-0'd Gambit in an off-season tournament right before Champs 2021 (less relevant but still something). They also attended the previous event where they almost got 3rd/4th if they didnt choke 12-7 lead on third map vs 100T. Acend was a good team throughout 2021.

One excuse I hear ppl make is that Gambit couldnt get good sleep because GMB vs KRU lasted so long. But that is Gambit's fault for taking it to a third map and not closing it out fast enough. Acend destroyed Team Liquid (who beat KRU earlier in the tournament) very quickly.

Acend at champs was also very unique as in they ran Brimstone and Omen unlike most other teams in the Viper/Astra meta.

Also ACEND only fell off after cuz Zeek was having mental health issues or something and team couldnt get proper practice/sum shit. Then 2 of them got benched, but Acend almost got to Masters Copenhagen (10-6 choke to FPX(EU), who eventually won the tournament).

idk something must have gone wrong if you go from best team in the world to not able to make a single event ever again, unless you never were the best team itw to begin with

i just think they weren’t the strongest team at the tournament and after the win they immediately fell off

they had that horrible ruling to make their run possible

they literally got eliminated then got to replay with a massive advantage going 7-0 up instead of it being 0-0 and they almost lost it being 7-0 up.

plus im pretty sure a lot of people wanted to see gambit be the first org to get 2 trophies and in a row at that.
