That means all debut games in the Swiss Stage were sweeps, even though map two was close between these two teams.

Starting on Breeze, Team Liquid chose the map and ran double-Duelist and double-Controller, keeping MiniBoo on Neon. T1 ran double-Duelist and double-Controller as well, but with Jett and Astra. Team Liquid won the first pistol with an aggressive push down almost all areas of the map, but T1 won the next round with a stax ace. Liquid followed that round up with a big eco round win, and T1 earned another right back, starting the map in pure economic chaos. Liquid was the team that took the first true lead of the series, and nAts stepped up to bring his team to an 8-4 lead at the half.

MiniBoo shoots three down with his Sheriff.

T1 earned the second pistol, but was unable to convert the bonus round. The name of the gameplay from Liquid on Breeze was proactivity, and that did not change on the attack half. Liquid reached double-digit rounds wins and only got stronger as the map went on, ending Breeze 13-8.

Next up was Split, with T1 running double-Duelist with Yoru and Raze on its map pick, as Team Liquid continued its double-Duelist with the sole change of picking Skye. T1 stole the first pistol off a stax triple kill in spawn, but MiniBoo stole the eco right back. The teams once again started a map trading rounds, but T1 was able to separate thanks to some amazing plays from stax. The map was closer than map one, as T1 entered halftime up 7-5.

T1 extended the lead with another pistol win, but was unable to convert the bonus. T1 reached 11 round wins and prime position to close the map out, but Liquid fought back. Even as T1 reached 12 round wins, Liquid ran it back to force overtime.

In the first overtime round, purp0 converted a 2v4, but Liquid lost the next round to keep OT going. nAts won a 1v1 against stax to give Liquid the lead again, and this time Liquid closed it out as the team won Split 15-13 and the series 2-0.
