TLDR- Koi salaries to players were pretty damn good and not like 5-10k ones and in their initial years some of the contracts they gave to players they fucked up by not adding a break clause like other orgs where u can get rid of players after like 3 months of salary but koi had none + multi year player contracts with good money, their contract also had no clause to state they are gonna get half their salary on bench and thus even if they benched someone they would have to pay them full money, so basically even after taking not great players koi put themselves ina position where they physically cant get rid of the players unless someone buys them out
