[DOTD 1] Can you IGL on YORU?

Debate of the Day, 1:
With the Yoru meta being especially prominent in this 2025 season, most pros have been pairing Yoru with other duelists (mostly after PRX won Toronto with their Yoru+duelist meta) and Yoru's playstyle has MOSTLY changed from being first entry to more of a flash Initiator.
Now we've seen flex players, well, flexing onto Yoru (but f0rsakeN, the Yoru GOD and arguably the flex for PRX doesn't play Yoru?)
for example; MTV wayne and NS Francis. Although only one of the two (Francis) is IGL, it begs the question:

tldr; Is YORU a suitable agent for IGLs without hindering them as much as they would on a traditional duelist?

Yes but only if you are a capable entry to begin with

Francis isnt igl -rb is

i could see it being possible for more frag-heavy igls but for igls that are more call-heavy (think igls like boaster), other roles like controller would still be better for them

Prx already did with f0rsaken that one time they played 3 duelist on split.

unpopular opinion but I think IGLs should be duelists as they are the ones that dictate the pace of the game

both shiro and francis from boom and ns respectively stepped off igling when they picked up the yoru tho

Hot take: you can igl on any agent.

I believe that macro-wise smokes is the most optimal role for igling since smokes are the most important piece of utility from a macro standpoint, you can exec without a drone, without a dart or a clone, but if you don't have enough smokes since you used one to put pressure on top mid, etc. it's way harder to throw your exec. Plus, on Omen for example you can smoke before you throw everything so you are able to paranoia at the best time

fundamentally duelists are focused the most on shooting their guns, and no matter which way you slice it, IGLing takes away from the effectiveness of doing so.

as someone who tries to igl his silver lobbies it’s very comfortable to do so on controllers (as an omen main) because you can do your call-outs and control the map with your util at the same time

and with omen i can just single handedly win rounds sometimes
