Aspas vs Chronicle legacy differential from 2025

Purely from the start of 2025 to the end, who's strengthened their argument for GOAT more?

Chronicle: went to 3 grandfinals, was maybe the best player in one of the tournaments (EWC), and won stage 1 EMEA

Aspas: took MIBR (LOL) to two internationals, bombed out at one of them playing horribly, but then also dropped one of the best performances of all time at Champs, including a top 6 finish. He also got two records:

  • Broke the bo3 kill record at an international, taking it from himself
  • Tied the record for vlr rating at an event post-franchising (1.33 at champs), tied with Tokyo Alfajer

actually, there were three records.

record for most kills in a BO3 at an international tournament:

record for most kills in a BO3 across all tournaments:

and why are you acting like the mickey mouse tournament is relevant?

Aspas when he carries the team and breaks records --> lose
Chronicle when he carries ---> win

Stats are good to look at but not relevant when they amounting to nothing

if a player drops crazy numbers, carries and breaks records, the problem isnt him losing, its the team not keeping up. chronicle doesnt win “because he plays the right way”, he wins because his team can actually match his level.

stats dont lose value just because the team loses. they show impact, who’s actually doing something, and who’s just hiding behind team wins.

do u know mibr's whole gameplay revolves around giving aspas the best opportunity posible to frag out in order to win? so ofc he'll pull out good numbers and doesn't necessarily mean his team is not keeping up.

It's a team game after all and Chronicle has made better decisions to stay in a team where his skills are best used

aspas was way more impressive, he had a way harder job due to unlucky circumstances(a team legit got kicked out of franchise😭) and still broke 2 kill records this year while also having the best rating for the year again, and the best rating ever at Champs

Chronicle's best performance was "EWC😭" probably, i didnt watch it like many people, and for the rest of the year Kaajak, Alfajer and even crashies were more impactful than him.

Its the third year of franchise already and Chronicle is still NOT the best player on his team, still fighting with Boaster for 4th best Fnatic player

ofc all the biased brazil flags come to save aspas

aspas is impressive and all, but there is more to this game than pure frags and records in a bo3 with 77 rounds played

sure its easy to give a duelist player the title because OMG KILLS, never even considered impact with utility, setting up their own duelist and teammates
give some credits to artzin and cortezia for setting up aspas to make the kills.

How did aspas stregthen his goat status? getting 5th-6th in champs? I mean....

VCT EMEA Stage 2 Winner
Masters Toronto 2nd place
EWC 2nd place
Champions 2025 2nd place
