think of all the GOATs you know of (faker, s1mple, n0tail, etc.) and think of what they had in common: there was an extended period of time stretching over several different events where they were very clearly the best in the game and they were winning a multitude of chips alongside it

if you have to explain to someone why you think someone is the GOAT, then it’s very likely that a) they aren’t the GOAT or b) the game just doesn’t have one yet (in valorant’s case, it’s both)

eventually there will come a time where the real greatest player of all time will appear and become what he’s meant to be, but that’s far from now. all we have now are interim goats, placeholders because we don’t know who the real definitive goat is yet

TenZ.... multiple trophies with different roles... hitting peak at both roles.... with different teams

Maybe the real goat was the friends we made along the way

Aspas is the BEST player in Valorant history. Statistically the most consistent.

But he’s not the greatest, since he’s got “only” one international trophy.

People need to understand the difference between “Greatest” and “Best.”

Maybe Chronicle can be considered the greatest because of the trophies he has, but Aspas is the best. They’re completely different profiles. Maybe one day we’ll have a player who’s both. In my opinion, if Aspas wins a Champions next year, he becomes the GOAT without any debate.
