How is saadhak getting onto a team in 2025
Please nobody pick up lemon1 next season
New players are exciting
Americas have been pretty much hindered by a lack of quality IGLs. Players like Saadhak are seasoned callers. Having non-IGL players transition into IGL can be very risky and time-consuming in an esport where there aren't many opportunities to test your skills. The worse teams play 12 matches in a whole year so results need to be provided quickly. I definitely want some new players in lieu of some of the deadwood. Tier 2 stars like Alym definitely deserve a shot.
Another major limitation is the import rule. Admittedly, VISAs in of themselves are an issue for many foreign players trying to play in EMEA or Americas. However, the import rules definitely hinder Tier 2 talent from abroad from being scouted.
there are 5 good/insane level igl prospects in americas, if anything it is the region with the least IGLs problems of them all. I'd much rather get any of them than saadhak, I don't see why you'd be ready to bet on anything but igls. In fact getting fresh blood in the igling department would be great in that it would renew the currently washed understanding of the game that a lot of teams have
EMEA definitely is in the toughest spot looking for IGLs. There are probably some alright tier 2 ones, but IGLs in general feel far and few to come by if you want one that is self-sufficient in fragging. Being a smart caller isn't enough in today's pro scene. Players like Valyn, F0rsaken and Nats are fairly rare because they got amazing fragging power from the get-go, but the brain to call a play that isn't overly-basic. Saadhak does have some fragging power and crazy ideas. I think that he is an IGL that I don't mind seeing again because eventually someone will be able to work with his ideas. He's lowkey the Argentinian Ange1 in this respect and Ange1 is now moving on to coaching. Ange1 was also quite crazy on the ideas and could frag, but not consistently.
and in the end Ange1 didn't achieve anything in his last 2 years despite having everything and everyone he wanted. you probably picked the worst exemple to serve your point; a washed igl with decent calling and system building, who wasted most of his team's year and wasn't able to create anything good enough to reach internationals again, bc everyone simply caught up to his level and eventually overtook him. Literally the same as Saadhak; having all he pieces one could dream of to have a great team and being literally unable to make those pieces work together. I don't see why I'd give him another opportunity to fuck up when I can just get an insane prospect who will be way easier to work with and who I know has good reads on the meta and has wayyyy more room to grow than any other 55 yo veteran igl
mited was right there. Kru already wanted saadhak last year, couldn't get him, saw his year on KC and were liike "yeah let's get his washed ass instead of the best igl all of SA T2". And in theory I have nothing against saadhak he just hasn't given any good reason in the past 2 years to get him over the insane players there are inT2 and it pisses me off that teams keep recycling old players
"is mited that good if he was exl would at least make ascension"
