Personally, I don't necessarily think “state-sponsored sportswashing = evil.”
It's better than spending limited budgets on weapons and ammunition, and by projecting a clean image to the international community, it can actually encourage real cleanliness in the long run (by increasing exposure to clean values).
However, I don't know if the same applies to e-sports.

every country who is trying to put forth a good image through sportswashing is just trying to distract you from their human rights violations

If they stop buying weapons, committing war crimes or violating human rights and etc than using the money they have to promote/sponser sports than yeah, its not a bad thing, the problem is using sports to mascarete all the crimes they keep committing and all the laws against woman rights they have

That may be true. However, seeing people shouting for Palestinian liberation disrupting the Vuelta a España race and injuring unrelated riders doesn't leave a very good impression.

Geoguesser canceled its EWC tournament due to strong opposition from users. Both the users and the organizers who accepted their opinions were wise.

Ha ha , bicycle road racing is a prime breeding ground for sportswashing. UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kazakhstan are all participating.

Sportswashing is bad. Only reason I made my comments because I thought people were selective who to boycott. Was wrong but it is what it is.

Israel Premier Tech cycling team is a privately owned team funded by an Israeli owner's wealth earned through real estate ventures in Canada. It has no connection whatsoever to Israel itself.

In my opinion, RIOT shouldn't have held tournaments in China and created a Chinese league. But it's too late now.

Yes, it's evil. Therefore, all Russian players should be banned as well. Even if that's impossible, they should at least abandon their flags, as Chronicle did.

What is there to enlighten about what the USA did in Middle East and many European Powers as well. Don't forget France still has a monopoly on the Gold Coast countries. Also history might also enlighten you as well, if you researched what was done in Africa and the Americas
