I don't know the details, but it appears that a team owned by a very popular streamer is participating.

Frankly, I am anxious to see if the BR Challengers, which starts in a few days, will be exciting.

Despite the fact that three popular teams - VIT, KC, and G8 - have moved to the EMEA League, it has the second most viewers in the entire ongoing tier2 scene (the most popular being Japan).
Below are the viewership numbers for the tier2 scene as confirmed by Liquipedia.
Japan : Average 106426, Highest 232477
France : Average 16183, Highest 50371
Turkey :Average 6611, Highest 22258
Spain : Average 3973, Highest 13826
Polaris: Average 971, Highest 2412
Portugal: Average 894, Highest 1927

What is even more surprising is not that any particular team is gaining viewers, but that the league as a whole is popular.
According to Esports Charts , the five most-watched matches were as follows Of the eight teams participating in the league, seven of them, not including Monaco Esports, are included.

DVM vs JobLife : 50371
Mandatory vs Solary : 32325
Valiant vs JobLife : 30506
Mandatory vs ZERANCE : 28670
Mandatory vs Akroma : 25210

The overall trend is that regions with a thriving CS2 competition scene tend to have a less thriving VALORANT competition scene, but France is a complete exception. Why?

There are plenty of teams with less than 2 players and head coach left from last year's season.
I agree that it is not a good idea to make replacements right before the start of the season, but to criticize DFM for anything else is wrong.

C9...jakee, Xeppaa
EG...potter, jawgemo
FURIA...Khalil, mwzera
LEV...Mazino, Kingg
TH...Boo, neilzinho (not including benjyfishy)
KC...Shin
VIT...ceNder, Salah
DFM...Anthem, Melofovia
GENG...Meteor
TLN...Crws, JitboyS
GE...Lightningfast

It will be LOUD-G2 NRG-MIBR to avoid matches between teams from same country.

Even in Japan, where the average level is the weakest in the region, one team can field five international league-class players, so why does India have such a dearth of talent?(Idontknowdfm)

GE should acquire him. He is Indian and would not fall under the restrictions on imports from other regions.

Those who slammed Curry when he joined C9 in 2022 should apologize first before praising him.

No My point is that Brazilian offline tournaments are better.

Players who competed in Masters TOKYO and Redbull Homeground often post positive feedback about the Japanese crowds, but it seemed a bit unnatural. At least it felt more than the posts about the Brazilian crowds at LOCK IN.
Are their posts just flattering, like F1 drivers praising Suzuka Circuit?

I agree, FENNEL was eating into FNATIC until the very end.

FNC 13-3 ZETA
means FL>>>ZETA

Well, in NA, G2 and SEN, and in Brazil, MIBR is losing to tier2 teams this season. It is in every region. And these 3 teams have lost outright in BO3, worse than FNC.

They had top class stats in NA Challengers and everyone expected them to be good in tier 1.
what is the level of NA Challengers?

G2 players were chosen for the tier1 team because they proved themselves to be the best in the Americas tier2 scene when they used to be in GUARD...does joining a tier1 team make them weaker? Haha.

too Good

When the Japanese team that had hired the Korean Munchkin made fun of us for having a language debuff when we showed them our communication mistakes, I never thought the NA team would be in the same boat.

posted 5 months ago

BR fans are often critical of Callao, but if ZETA's attempt is successful, there may be more opportunities for players and coaches who were kicked off AMERICAS teams to try out for Pacific's team.

posted 5 months ago

I watched ZETA Academy coach's stream and it is not a particularly serious situation.

According to Vorz, a coach at ZETA Academy, Yuran was highly recommended by Dep.

The Swiss draw format of BO1 x 2 matches in this game with the map and agent composition elements is very silly.

Swiss system with 2 Bo1 rounds
Top 6 teams advance to Playoffs
Top 2 team is entitled to choose Semifinals match

Only Khalil and mwzera have enough ability.
The three newcomers have yet to show better performance than mazin, dgzin, and qck, especially havoc's ability as a duelist and kon4n's IGL, which is far from what is expected.
In fact, they struggled to win against tier2 class teams such as XIT and RED.
Fans put all the blame on Carlão for last year's Americas performance, but seeing how dzgin, who left FURIA, struggled even with tier2 teams, FURIA was not strong enough to compete in Americas in the first place.
Next year will be even worse.
Fans overestimated FURIA just because they were able to fight against FNC to some extent in LOCK//IN.

If FL beats CCG, given the qualifying results, FL>CCG>EDG>ZETA?

posted 5 months ago

GG but ZETA who played a good match against EDG with lizhi will probably advance to GF. GF will be a rematch.

posted 5 months ago

EDG 26-9 ASE (in CN Qualifier)
ZETA 26-6 ASE (in East Asia)

If we refer to the rounds difference with ASE, EDG and ZETA are likely to have a good match.

So how did you like G2's EMEA Series 3?

posted 5 months ago

Looking at the brackets, it appears that if you lose the first round, you are eliminated without moving to the lower bracket, which I think is flawed. They should take a page from the APAC double elimination tournament.

Are the people who appreciated johnqt still alive?

posted 5 months ago

Both the shootout and IGL ability are clearly not up to the league's standards, I know how much M80 fans overestimated them, there was a huge difference between them and The GUARD.

Fans like to claim that Carlao is all bad. But considering that dgzin has not even performed well in games against tier2 teams, wasn't Carlao a good coach as well as a protector of his players from the hate of the fans? At least last year's FURIA looks stronger than the current FURIA.
Furthermore, in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, FURIA was a team that easily lost in the national qualifying rounds and barely managed to reach the championships in the LCQ.

posted 5 months ago

dgzin was not a tier 1 worthy player from the beginning. That's it.

crow "ZETA DIVISION has made some changes to its roster and team management, and for the first time in ZETA's "VALORANT" division, the team has an international member. Coach Carlao was previously a coach at FURIA Esports (a Brazilian professional gaming team).
With his knowledge and experience, we aim to strengthen the team by incorporating the latest strategies from overseas that we had not previously considered."

Indeed. just like last year's KC, which employed not only Nivera but also ScreaM.

She was on loan to FL last year and competed in the GC Champions. This proves it all.

Rumor has it that they are hiring experienced coaches for a mid-tier AMERICAS team f/a or a tier 2 team in EMEA.

At the very least, team operations would be far healthier and player enrollment would increase if the two systems were implemented. This is essential to achieve sustainability and stability.

posted 7 months ago

The purpose of introducing this system is to make it easier to manage business by making the upper limit of player labor costs, the largest cost in club operations, or the break-even point, visible. This is also to make it easier to transfer profits above the break-even point to the business side, mainly to entertainment and staff labor costs.

In the longer term, we believe that if the league does not make it possible to improve the treatment of teams, front office, and staff other than players, it will affect the second career options of current players. I think this is an important approach for the players' retirement as well.

Especially in NA, player labor costs continue to skyrocket. While this may be happy for the players in the short term, it also causes difficult problems. It means that the owners' investment of funds will accelerate in order to compensate for the rising costs. There is no telling how long this will continue. And for the owners, it wasn't supposed to be this way...

There is a fear that the club will not be able to make up the amount of money it can make up, and that it will not be able to invest in improving the treatment of front desk staff and the environment, leading to turnover and weakening the business front.

If this happens, the fundamentals of management, such as attracting customers and sponsor sales, will collapse, which may lead to a decline in the quality of team strengthening and fan service. We are also concerned that if it becomes standard for owners to make large financial contributions, it will dull the field's serious sense of expenses. If somewhere along the line, a club whose owners pull out could become a threat to its survival.

Some people turn a blind eye to these realities and say that it is good if you can finance winning, or that it is a good thing that players' salaries are going up. However, if we don't maintain growth and health, it will eventually get tougher or the league will become a contest of how much money the owners can contribute.
