Then you missed the other aspects explained by TMV. Something always has a plan whether it's through his TPs, flashes or ults. I will say that the glaze might be a bit high right now, but something is certainly a top tier Yoru player with an unbelievable level of game sense when he's dialled in. It's a lot more evolved compared to the beginning of the year and previous years when he would just send it with Jett or Reyna looking for pure gunfights. I also recall that Something was a serial corner ignorer so he would often cost his team the round for not clearing information via corner checking and just jumping around at the front of the pack.
PRX fans and some haters won't fully understand how valuable it is to have a plan in general as a player and as a team. Yoru enables so many escape routes and it's evident through how something plays the agent. Compare it to nobody whose Yoru looked 1-dimensional, something shows a level of awareness about positions and information that give him a crazy advantage.
It's funny that OP mentions 2023 Demon1 when something had his rookie season in 2023 as well and was looking like a mechanical monster. Picking Reyna in pro play was very niche - Icebox at most - and something was playing it on Ascent with convincing results. Something definitely had mechanical aim of a different style to Demon1 but was, in my opinion, on par with him. Demon1 also had incredible survivability throughout a round and map which something is definitely learning. It's definitely the aspect of 2023 Demon1 that something is learning the most.
Lastly, this is more in response to OP about the fall-off, but players will rise and fall depending on the meta. I can imagine Yoru getting some nerfs next year so that flash initiators can get some more picks. Yoru might still be very strong for something, but the meta shift will absolutely allow for new comps, playstyles and star players to emerge.
