regionals overall are a shit unwatchable slugfest. Same matchups, dead studio, even tech issues sometime. yeah emea is especially bad, the studio literally has like 30 people in it, and the teams are always just slow and boring or fast and terrible

At least china and pacific put effort into regionals

like I am pretty sure it's quite concering for EMEA as well that now 6/12 teams own a CS2 team, with Karmine Corp saying across several years that having a cs2 team would be great. VCT EMEA was supposed to at least come close to CS A-tier events but it gets dicked down by a fucking online blast event

I don't understand how Riot made EMEA with an expectation that people will watch it.Ain't no way a region where people watch either real sports or CS with a huge cult of fans following players would love to watch a fucking studio event 3 times a year

PRX hype and RRQ is a huge org bringing in viewers from other scenes they're in, also the usual Japan high viewership

cause americas is carried by brazil + sen, and we all know what happened to brazil this stage. and who tf cares about TL vs bbl and giantx.

also lets be real. stage 2 is meaningless for half the fans. stat padding tournament for securing contracts

i think the production value plays here. AMER and EMEA has zero/no innovations (props to AMER for doing the override thing yesterday. but SEN G2 Showmatch did it earlier in the broader valorant world i think)

meanwhile CN and PAC is treating regional finals like it's a champs finals

2 slots were locked in before the stage even started
if you werent a fan of 100t, lev, c9, nrg, or mibr you had 0 reason to watch. ur team wasnt gonna do shit

i mean first of all the performing teams second the effort. you can’t be surprised with apac having amazing viewship when for the REGIONAL grand finals you host it in a different country with an amazing venue, packed crowd, show matches, build up and hype etc
