Why champs needs swiss instead of groups

1. NO GROUPS OF DEATH. sure it didnt happen this year but previously there have been groups that end up making it so some teams go out way too early like GenG last year
2. MORE GAMES. 5 rounds of swiss makes it so more games happen and each team has a minimum of 3 games and a potential of 5 if they go 2-2 and have to play a decider
3. MORE ACCURATE PLACEMENTS. if 2 teams go 0-2 rn nobody knows who is worse but if they play you can determine the 2 worst teams and bad teams face bad teams and good teams face good teams
4. CONSISTENCY. both masters have swiss so why not champs

It takes a lot conduct a 16 team Swiss round, they have to divide them into 2 groups and it might work!!

I must be the only one who prefers group stages over swiss

Yeah the format you mentioned is better imo

plus it builds hype not knowing who you'll play next

more games but takes up more time, riot has limited venue days
having more games would prolly mean an extra week of having such a big venue
thats prolly one reason why they arent doing it

swiss is overrated

(I will be assuming Riot continue to run with an eliminating "swiss" format, in order to cut down on tourney time... yes its not actually swiss, but everyone still calls it "swiss" and idk the actual term for it either, so fair enough)
I agree with adding "swiss" in a lot more places however you do have to be fair:

• NO GROUPS OF DEATH
  The group of death isnt solved by swiss - its effects only reduced
  You can still end up with a Madrid where KC and TH only lost to the 1st and 3rd best team, and are still eliminated during groups
  It does however (mostly) solve the rematch issue, which is a huge plus and slightly diminishes the problems with "groups of death"

• MORE GAMES
  And thats where money is the problem. The format itself does not lead to more games. You could also just increase the group size.
  Its Riot intentionally deciding to reduce the amount of games.
  (Still give us more games PLEASE)

• MORE ACCURATE PLACEMENTS
  Here is where the initial disclaimer comes in. Riot refuses to run actual swiss.
  Longer tourney = more money = Riot doesnt want it
  So the moment you cant make it out of groups you get eliminated to cut down on tourney time, even in their "swiss" system
  The way Riot runs it, its just a more confusing groups format
  (They should consider adding B streams and still playing those games though ngl, cause Id love to see proper placements instead of the usual 13-16th shit)
