im sure this question has been beaten to death but i still dont understand
if MIBR, NRG, and C9 are all at 9 champs points and NRG and C9 still have a match/matches to play, what makes MIBR qualify instead of them?

americas tiebreak goes by head-to-head, and MIBR have a better h2h with NRG and C9 (and all the other teams that were formerly in contention)
ohh i see
for some reason i was thinking it was h2h for most recent split instead of the whole season, in which NRG would have them beat
Yep, and in every other region it would be the team that went farther in stage 2 playoffs, meaning it would be NRG or C9 depending on who wins that game.
not even it would be both c9 and nrg regardless of who wins since theyd be top in points and/or grand finals with sen and g2
Top 3 finishes in kickoff and stage 1, besides all those wins in group stage
americas tiebreaker for champs points is h2h throughout the year (for other regions, it's higher placements in stage 2 playoffs). one of nrg/c9 will make the lower final and qualify with at least 10 points (or top 2 if they win lower final) and the other loses out to mibr on the overall year h2h.
Tiebreakers one of NRG C9 have to finish 4th so they’ll stay on 9 and mibr have beaten them both in h2h this year so they go to champs
americas has a unique (and stupid) head to head where it looks at the head to head between teams that occurred during the whole year instead of how they place in the stage 2 playoffs, mibr were good earlier in the year so they won the h2h which gets them into champs
What makes me mad is that in any other region c9 and nrg would be going because they went deeper in stage 2 it’s only in NA mibr go that being said they have been the best team outside the top two over the year so it’s fair enough
