China is still the biggest underdog region, and not really treated as real. People still think that this is the easiest region to farm in and that any stats there dont matter. People still think the teams in the region are weak and are carried by 1-2 lucky performances. Many still consider the WOL, TE, BLG, and EDG runs lucky and that they shouldve never happened. Take my word, 1 bad performance in china, a single one, and people will start saying the fluked all past results and that this region shouldnt exist.

so what do I mean wolves performance did not matter? I mean that they did not change the narrative of china, People will doubt and continue to doubt this region to the end of time. If I said NOVA esports are the 4th seed in china, it holds no value, people will call them shit, expect them to go 0-2 no matter what and half of the people have probably never watched this team play. compare that with a 4th seed for any other region and people will still say that there is a decent chance that will win a series.

China will forever be the worst region in other peoples mind until they consistently win trophies b2b2b

china will be the worst region as most of their lower to mid range teams would be mopped by the bad teams in other regions. it is simply about the lack of time for their development. China has already managed to catch up with EDG and WOL going on big runs, now its up to the rest of the region

difference this time is wolves actually made it pretty far into playoffs. theyre the only other team besides edg to do it. but theyre definitely still the weakest region until other teams start to do the same

if u think about it, Wolves kinda beat easy to beat teams though:

1. Heretics were washed
2. Bilibili gaming is lucky to be 9th-10th (got a free win on TL without nAts)
3. RRQ's first ever game in a new meta (also first seed curse)
4. Only somewhat valid win: GEN.G (who choked both a 9-2 lead and on the other map 8-4)

then, they got shit on by paper rex and fnatic

Unfortunately, people will underestimate China even if they win champs again.
