they looked good. most importantly, individually. strats are obviously not the best, but i believe they can easily do better in that department. roster looks good.

mistic back to being the top 5 smoker. enzo very decent. keiko doing really good. jamppi is jamppi. nats is nats.
hope they can do something much more significant this year, and have an actual impact in the international events.

i better not see yet another year of wasting nats on an average roster

Dude, they looked good against a tier 2 Vietnamese team and a worn out EDG, mid Vs everyone else.

1 map win , close 2 map losses vs t1 ~13-10
won 1 map against the eventual winners sentinels. their split just looked new, it didnt have any ideas, which is a reason enough to believe in them

mickey mouse or not sen won 3-0 against prx "top3 team"

just saying they showed promise

I don't actually subscribe to the Mickey mouse theory. Teams want to win, it's just braindead fans who use that to finish a teams results.

Team liquid looked mid, didn't say they looked bad.

It's the nature of their losses that has me saying that, not the results themselves.

  1. they don't have a duelist that can take over matches like other top teams do. Keiko was often one of the weakest on the team, not even saying he's a bad player.

  2. They lost alot of rounds by trying to force their way through chokes and just got gunned down in utility and bullet storm blenders.

  3. As you mentioned they had close maps with teams that would be considered middle of the pack next year, sans them mopping the floor with Sen on haven.

How is the above not indicative of a middling team?

I think only keiko played badly in some matches, other than that the players played hella well. Just need to work on executes and strats and prac them a lot. Also a newly formed team, so the strats arent expected to be the best.

Maybe I'm missing things but Keiko did not look good. There were tons of moments where his missing raze util was what cost Team Liquid a play. I didn't watch the Fancy United game, so maybe he did well there, but the rest didn't look great.

I just think keiko looked nervous as more and more games went on and he continued struggling to get consistent frags, which is why his nades and stuff started messing up even though aim was fine

keiko has kinda always been a more nervous player from what I remember in Apeks last year, didnt really show up in big matches but played out of his mind most of the season. Hope he finds his groove in TL bcz if he is this team is dangerous imo

Liquid threw so many rounds they shouldn't have lost. It was really frustrating. So many times they would just snowball to losing rounds. That 5v3 postplant vs Sentinels on Split was the biggest throw I've seen in a while and summed up their short comings pretty well IMO. Looked a lot like classic Liquid even though its almost new roster.

But overall outside of Sunset that looked like ass from team to individuals, they looked decent and first event for this roster. In couple months they could be much better. Even Sentinels has changed a lot from their first games. I also think guy like Keiko was choking a bit maybe due to pressure missing smoke/dash with Jett etc.

i think keiko just isnt used to playing on such a big stage, he just looked nervous most of the time. i think though with enough time he'll warm up and go bonkers cus he has insane potential honestly
