Why do people take scrim results so seriously? Isn't scrimming the best time to test new strats and comps that may or may not work.

The strats you mean can also work or not work in a real match. The similarity between scrim and real matches is the team will try their best to carry out the desired strats

Scrims are the best place to filter out which work better for them and are likely to have a higher success rate, so I believe it is very normal to throw many rounds identifying and filtering out those than don't work / improving the execution of those that will work for them to take into the actual game. You can afford to test them in scrims, but not in a real match.
