I think the time has come for both the NAVI and the NRG core.

Think about it this way, once you have been the best team on the world, anything that is not doing it again feels like a failure to your fans. In the case of NRG, they were the best team in the world with all their players in their prime and having the best duelist in the world which I don't think are gonna find again. And for NAVI it's the same, they have reached a point where small changes don't make a difference imo

I can understand NAVI but why the NRG core? they had one abysmal tournament, but otherwise they made top 4 in the previous event.

NV got grouped at champs in 2021 by losing to XERXIA twice, and look what that same roster did in 2022. I have faith in the current roster

As I said, once you have been on the top your goal should be to up there again. They have placed 5th-8th, 4th, 9th-12th. Which would be a perfectly fine for any other team, but not for them. They managed to win with a duelist like prime yay, they are not gonna find another prime yay anytime soon, so their celling is just not what they used to be, they can0t find the same success they did in the past. They can only go backwards.

Same applies to NAVI, actually if you look a pure results:
NRG has placed 5th-8th, 4th, 9th-12th
NAVI has placed 3rd-4th, 7th-8th, 9th-12th

Do not fool yourself, NRG's year is exactly as disappointing as NAVI's, literally the same

Navi placed 11th-12th at Tokyo

Yeah you're right cause some teams went straight to playoffs, still, does not change the point

NaVi had a worse year easily

Placing 3-4 at a single elim event doesn’t hold the same weight as getting grouped TWICE. Be realistic you can’t just throw numbers next to each other and act like they mean something different tournaments mean more than others. And NaVi did not place 7-8th at Tokyo, they placed 9-12th being knocked out of groups first your forgetting the better teams of the tournament had already qualed for playoffs yet they still couldn’t make it out of groups. NRG have looked better than them this year with only Ardiss having a off year and Crashies having mid performances at LAN. They should get another year to adapt and NAVI need to figure out their calling

#33

Ofc there is a story behind those numbers, but the difference is not like you put it

NRG's run at Tokyo is the most impressive one out of the 6 for sure, and the NAVI one at Tokyo the less impressive one.
Aside from that, NAVI does better at Lock in even if it's a lower caliber tournament. But let's be real, at the most important tournament NAVI's run has been far more impressive than NRG's.

That is just justifying the unjustifiable. Both teams have been trash and definitely hit their celling

True. I feel like this core has reached a saturation point. It feels like they're missing something but we don't know what it is. On paper it is really the same team with Ardiis being a much better flex player than Yay when he was signed. S0m too performed beyond expectations but they still couldn't get results. Maybe it is the time to change.

it is nowhere near the same roster i dont think you realize how much kills matter in this game. an fps game. there is clear difference between firepower when you look at both iterations of the roster. yay can kill so much, ardiis cannot, which can't open up as many paths to victory as yay.

its not like we saw superior util usage by the flex of ardiis, nothing like chronicle or leo. might as well just kill people at that point if you cant do much, which is why yay is better

Why the NAVI core? If they won 1 of 40 different rounds they lost against LOUD (!!!!) and DRX (!!!) they would be playing in play offs of Champions right now.
Same with NRG, they lost to 1 team.

A couple of slip ups and you bury 2 great teams?

If they were playing playoffs rn my take would be exactly the same one as it is. The roster has hit their peak, once that happens there only is one direction to go and it is backwards. The players need a fresh start from 0
