Why I love the Chinese teams

They play the kind of valorant I've always wanted to play.

A gameplan whose success depends on risky hypotheticals. Tremendous aggression beyond anything PRX have shown, unflinching even in overtime.

We would be shit-talking Zmjjkk for all the risky decisions he took ON GEKKO if he didn't have the skill of a god to make the vision a reality.

Yet, he doesn't care, he does it anyways. Whether the scoreline is 8-0 or 13-14

Every single player taking duels and capable of clutching.

This team will have deep lows, but unreachable highs.

If NRG represents everything I appreciate tactically about valorant, EDG represents everything I love about the risk involved in individual decisionmaking

bro ailed you know how i sometimes tp onto site by myself while my teammates want to rotate cus theres 4 people there? thats how i feel about EDG, they're the type of team to look at that and not even care if theres 4 on site, they'll push in and take it with me no matter what, as fast as they can.

The amount of times I've seen the chinese teams brute force a site with pure, raw firepower is unbelievable to me

they play the style of valorant I want to play

thats what i was talking about since istanbul champions and a lot of people didnt take my words seriously back then. because of 'isolation' cn teams can pull out such unique strats and the fact that there are almost no vods of local china tournaments make EDG and ASE really powerful opponents. talking about champions 2022, not only kangkang has improved a lot but also edg's teamwork. and i was SO happy to see smoggy on jett (like good old times) on bind. like even on fgc 2023 act 2 finals i messaged in chat something like "everyone get ready to watch them destroy masters group stage" and they really did.

support cn valorant for mental health and clean skin <3 EDGWIN!!!

tbh i would really like to see edg\prx game, something and kangkang are both mad jett players with insane movement, it will be so exciting and interesting to watch and i would like to see how edg can play against much stronger ones

there are tons of vods of china tournaments and teams have definitely used them to try and antistrat, but yeah everything else I agree with

EDG wasn't all aggression tho. That first half of pearl showed some tactical nuance that worked very well.

It wasn't all aggressive, but I mean cmon every single retake involved at least one EDG player ego peeking by themselves and getting two

Those ZmjKK awp is crazy, but they at least weren't all aggression. I'm just saying they had some tactical nuance to appreciate that they can actually think about the game state and how it should be played instead of go all aim no brain mode constantly, even if they can do that against 90% of teams. That'll help them in the long run bc when they can't just out-duel the best teams like FNC and LOUD they'll actually have something to fall back on

absolutely, their attacks were slow and methodical. Haodong is a very underrated igl, he had the perfect reads

I think agrresively prx is more w key than edg actually, however paper rex has more firepower imo, but because they run goofy comps they could be limited. In contrast edg run very normal comps and I feel like the most successful rounds are when they don't overextend (as in go too far alone, not as in aggro).

Its not a consistent way to play the game imo

It heavily relies on individual performance instead of strong strategy and structure which is more consistent

Just look at how many clutches EDG had.

If the clutches are split 50/50 which is usually how it is split) NaVi wins.

This is I why I hate that style of play

Tbh let's not count out that EDG's tactical is also still excellent
They just build on top of that with aggressive plays, but not all the time
