How long till china becomes the #1 region

Just saw the news, china sent a team to champions with nothing but the most bum-ass underground tourneys as practice (no offense to the fgc's but they werent exactly masters level) and actually looked competitive. With a renewed playerbase and the ability to actually support their scene i say in a year and a half they'll be a major region and in three they'll surpass everyone else.

it wont happen, atleast for a long time.

will VALORANT even take over in China? CSGO is extremely popular there already. i don't deny the possibility, I just don't think it will be extremely popular there like League is

I think the fact that its a riot game should give it a small advantage, and all the talent in valorant isnt consolidated into a singe continent like in CS, it probably wont reach LoL popularity but i think it might become decently popular.

scrims are extremely different and the people who show scrim results on here are monkeys
teams dont only try to win in scrims rather they also try to test comps out, test strats (not always since ofc they wont show strats),teams take alot of risks in scrims cuz nothing on the line, people dont warm up for hours juiced up on a redbull to be perfect, they try to practice certain aspects of the game, teams also play scrims to test their skill against a strong apac opponent to have good vod review footage/see what level they are at while the other team could be thinking lets practice our default or communication or wtv

let's be real here CSGO ain't the problem, Riot probably aim as high as cross fire playerbase are.

agreed. honestly, I'm curious on how Riot approach their market in China. though Valorant are more newbie friendly and isn't as complex as CSGO

just wait til their crossfire players switch to valorant😂
this would be hard tho. crossfire is franchised in china. but at least valorant would be available to the general public now.

would be interesting to see orgs like Q9, estar, and all gamers take valorant seriously

I just hope their Tier 2 doesn't devolve into matchfixing like it has in CS and LoL. Although I believe? there are already cases of matchfixing in Chinese Valorant too.

EDG in champions was an unexpected team when it came to what kinda play style was expected out of them and no doubt they were really good but if we need to really get a true image of China as a region then we need to see them go against more teams internationally. Right now its just 2 matches worth of information and would be too early. EDG in champions was like GE in APAC LCQ, people didn't know what to expect out of them and that's how GE beat the then DK.

I hope the chinese CS players realize they are wasting their time in a game that does not care about asia/china and switch to val.

Never.
I don't think val will be very hot in China.
We may have 1 or 2 competitive teams, but it's a long way from North America and Brazil.

Does Riot care more about China than Valve does? Chinese CS teams can't qualify anywhere because they're shit and not because they're being denied to participate by organizers.

It took them almost a decade to be the best region in LoL, and KR isnt as dominant of a scrim partner in val as it was in LoL

its gonna be a while

No it isnt like that . Asia situation was different 10 years ago and it was basically only China and Korea at that time . Things have changed now and lot more countries are more&more competitive

No, I think they are one of 2 regions actually contending for it every year though, as opposed to Valorant where they get one seed that gets grouped?

NA imports KR players too and they still suck :)

asia doesnt have many slots because they are shit.
which in turns makes them worse.
its a vicious toxic cycle which requires a strong team to break and help the scene.

it has happened before via renegades and tyloo but in this era it will be hard.
RA or Lynn vision have the best chance

The government makes it really hard to grow talent from a young age. Unless things change I don’t think they will be dominant. I’m sure they can still field a few competitive teams, but I don’t see them becoming the premier region.

I know it may seem bias but I think Val might be dominated by the Americas. The game is pretty fucking huge in NA. My local highschool has a team.

They get as many slots as they deserve

If anything, 16 for Europe is too few, since Americas have been underperforming for 6
