Riot said teams would be notified if they got in after champs.

I mean their fanbase is considerably low compared to how successful they are even if they don’t make it they will %100 be picked up

Is it really that low? Compared to 100T/SEN/TSM, sure. But compared to C9, XSET, Guard? But they have done a pretty bad job converting their succes to fanbase, how is the best team by far not the most popular in the region

Simple answer, the first three you mentioned has a massive kid and casual following. A bunch of people who don’t know jack but just claim they are fans and bandwagon. A lot like the warriors fanbase. They also don’t have Tenz who for whatever reason is treated like he’s s1mple or compared to at least.

It is funny to think that c9 was the most popular team In NA maybe of all time. In CS they have a massive following and they still do. At IEM Dallas there was c9 support everywhere but you don’t see any of it in Valorant.

lol because most esports fans follow players not orgs. You look at stewie tarik and shroud and all the support is still there.

Not entirely true. It might be more common in Valorant than other games. For teams like Team Liquid, faze, astralis, etc. I think people genuinely support the team/org. But you’re not wrong about people supporting certain players. Pretty much anyone who played for c9 cs has a following with a large fan base.
Tarik, shroud, Stewie, n0thing, autimatic, xeppaa, floppy, freakazoid, seangares, list goes on.

It’s like sentinels I guess as well. Anyone who joins sentinels gets an insta following boost.

Well considering there are only 3 tournaments a year. But yes people strive for attention in the Valorant community.

I think this is about Yay's contract. It ends in Sept. and maybe Optic dont want to resign him because of the price tag.

This I believe is the more authentic story. Franchising isn't out until after champions is done. Given it was a one to one interaction specifically if you look at Chet's responses, could be that

Those tweets are about internal issues, not about franchising.
