Dead Valorant scene in South Asia

With almost no exposure to international Valorant leagues it seems the Valorant scene in South Asia is going to die if not dead already.
When Valorant arrived I had lots of hope but given franchising coming next year it is certain that SA will not be getting any spot.
This hurts a lot being a eSports fan, and hoping to see our regional team playing at highest level in the game.
Future of pro Valorant scene in SA is Dark.

I feel bad for SA Esport fans. Not only Val , in all big PC Esport, DOTA/CS/LoL seems like SA scene is so isolated. Mobile/BR Esport is only thing that SA teams have chances to compete internationally

all this is due to the player's mindset and ofc some shitheads spamming and bringing down SA's reputation.

SA too much invest to mobile game like most APAC country. That's why they don't prioritize APAC & SA much.
It's luck APAC have PRX so riot still care about us. But sadly no good team from SA.

Yes, it's still dream for many to have proper gaming setup and all the spot in org are occupied by old washed out CS players. Who are very arrogant to try anything. Very little to no chance for game to grow in region. :(

I'm sure that sa will get atleast 1 spot for viewership? same as oce I assume but maybe i'm hard coping

#10

Only one team's application has been considered as of now and it's most unlikely they will be given as there's already atleast 12 better teams in APAC than this team. We didn't even qualified for lcq so you can guess.

but ur results dont matter , only how the org functions matters.

I think twitch is more popular in OCE
Even on twitch there were like only 1-2k viewers in grand finals Oceania

they are just not destined to play pc games, one time they were given a chance a guy used a cheat on lan so yeah

idt it's fair to say that "they" ruined their chance just bc of 1 guy

On guy cheats and entire region isnt destined to play esports? Wow that means no region in entire world should play esports

dude admit it SA sucks at pc games, also rito is wrong not giving SA slots too

#23

SA pc esports probably youngest in APAC.

#25

Frags

how is that relevant to your first comment? Yes SA sucks at pc games because they havent had enough exposure yet. Or are you trying to claim rest of the world has better genes which make them better ta video games like some emea users were claiming a few days ago. They will improve when given more chances like any other region

#43
StockfishZ

gaming genes unfortunetly exist, SEA and SA are cracked at mobile, while EU and NA suck at mobile. vice versa with PC

#53
wizardbot
1
Frags

No they dont mate. SA and SEA are better in mobile gaming because everyone here plays mobile games while in the west everyone plays pc games and mobile esports is given no respect. Its not very hard to make the connection.

Correct just because people play more mobile games here, we can find more star players in mobile industry while this is vice versa in western countries, its just a matter of giving people opportunities their is no such things as gaming genes but less number of people playing the game when compared to other countries

the same guy got in a team and they were the first SA team to qualify for APAC(but yea unfortunately they didnt win)

edit: GE qualified all 3 times for APAC qualifiers

According to leaks their is great amount of chance for ge to get franchise slot and idk why they will get the slot, i thought they wont, but maybe because of potential viewership

#15

They didn't even qualify for lcq so atleast behind of 12 teams if you consider. Prx+xia+10 teams which going to play in lcq

Bruh one last time I am saying franchise slots arent given only on the basis of performance infact performance might be a secondary criteria much behind what they actually want from an org and also the next time ge will play they will play 4v5 not 3v5 lol

indian scene: viewership high but the player base low, that's why the teams can't recruit any new talents when they tried to.

#27
wizardbot

Frags

thats not true, fairly sure india has a high player base however their arent many ppl aware of esports side so most dont grind for it + esports is a very very unorthodox concept in india so even those who might be gifted dont even think about trying to go pro

Tbh there are some insane young individuals but our people (org owners) have some mindset that new players cant play good whereas medal tricki who nobody knows even exsisted is shining in the team, rge team full of young players were able to defeat vlt in scs, kholi getting rank 5 radiant heck even skrossi was a no namer but he (sometimes lf and skillz) is the reason ge qualified for apac every time

#30

Yeah we don’t have alot of talent but with whatever talent we have orgs dont try to use it/sign those players.

#32

Rossi wasnt a nonamer. He was a pugstar in cs and lowly t2 player

#35

Still most people wouldnt knew him and I heard in a vedio he was a no namer until ge but yeah I didnt followed csgo esports scene so I dont know much about this

#38

Maybe rawfiul is the best example in this he was founded in vlt academy and now is easily top 3 jetts in SA all these just ahows their is talent but orgs have to risk and invest in young players

#39
Shashwat_Singh

He was also like a t2-t3 player in csgo pretty well known not a no namer

Meh anyone who followed the cs scene had heard of him tbh. The only guys with no background in cs are deadly, 1tap, tricki as mentioned by the other guy. Nearly everyone else comes from cs that too from low tier teams. For examples the old TR core rellik crosshair etc used to play for UME, a team that didnt do much. Ex RGE( the first iteration that used to include whimp) used to play professional cs while being pros in valorant until mid 2021 but they had to stop because valorant calender got too hectic. Infact Paradox still plays for 2ez4 in cs. Ember and Logi however are definitely one of the decent newer talents who made the switch, they were playing for headshot esports the best cs team in india before making the switch

#34

skrossi was already an upcoming talent in csgo.
IMO ge should just remove the old cs pros and add young raw aimers and talents paired up with an old talent who can guide them, that's what all the regions are doing.

It's cuz the general mentality of Indians gaming can't be career although it's changing slowly will take another decade to catch up with APAC itself.
Having proper gaming setup is still luxury when most guys still playing on mobile phones or gaming laptops.

gaming laptops? what for? just genuinely curious

Because gaming laptops can be easily carried by students to different places or cities.Where students move for studies.

No way riot will let this go. There will cent percent be an regional circuit in SA and there will be a Path to pro. I think the new system will be a hybrid franchise and not like the LoL one. We gotta wait to see.
