Fuck franchising. All my homies love regional league with relegation and promotion

Without franchising, organisations will not commit long term which ends up hurting tier 1 players.

Why not. Top teams are guaranteed of a spot in challengers unless they will end up the last spot. Which means they are secured and will commit long term.

You are braindead and you dont know what youre talking about at all.

Please let Riot and the orgs decide what is best for their businesses, and you can keep sitting on vlr with an empty head.

U are the brain dead one. Ask what u don't know without ksiing ur own ass. LG gone. Ur FaZe is next when they don't have a spot in franchising

If FaZe wants the spot they will get it.

They are top 5 biggest esports orgs in the world.

Yeah what about other orgs who are outside of top 8 financially? How can teams like Guard or Ghost get the oppportunity they deserve?

what do you mean deserve? This is real life, no one deserves anything

people deserve something for their hardwork. It's ok if u didn't receive anything because u didn't deserve anything. But hard worked players like Trent or whole Guard deserve their spot.

TRENT is not in the running for a franchising spot, THE GUARD is

if THE GUARD does not get a franchising spot, and org that DID can pick up Trent

If done correctly with good tier 2 scene and academy leagues i dont mind it that much sure open league is great but franchising if done correctly could give orgs and the game much more stability compared to current situation

In EMEA, they have given the stability for the top 10 teams.

These orgs won’t be joining valorant esports in the first place if there’s no franchising lol

You think they will actually pay a few hundreds thousands a year to upkeep a team just so their match can be viewed by 5-10k people in regional? Lmao
Most people don’t even watch even if you qualify into VCT unless they are playing against a big team like TL or G2

Vitality, Mouz, Karmine Korp, Excel, etc.. all are playing in regional league with fewer viewership. For all the regions In franchising most orgs won't receive a chance because of the no of spots and they have to play in regional league next year knowing they will not have a chance to play in challengers. Which is good? Stay in the scene knowing u have a chance of going to promotion or just stay in the scene playing with t2 teams?

All of those teams are minimal investment and bad, I would not want them in top 10 anyway

EMEA already cant find 10 world class teams

If u got kicked from a team, good luck finding an org. Why CS is still a thing? U can form a team with 5 players and give a shot at major. U will be recognised if u come halfway.

If you cant compete in T1 and get kicked and no one wants you, then you dont play in T1

A ragtag group of misfits isnt going to qual for major, theres 3 spots, and 10 teams with massive investments in the best players and support staff.

what is your issue?

Franchising is good lol ppl are overreacting so much. It's better for long term growth of the org and scene because these random tier 2 orgs were never gonna last anyways. The top orgs need a way to have sustainable growth and a lot of these orgs are bleeding money waiting for riot to announce franchising.

Just think orgs like LG or XSET and they don;t get a spot. What are they gonna do? Just play in the regional league forever?

I feel like you dont understand how this affects orgs vs players.

The best players are still going to be in VCT, the franchised orgs are the orgs with the money for real contracts and buyouts

Smaller orgs with less branding/fanbase/money can continue to half-ass it and develop talent

If an org like XSET can't get into Challengers or Masters, how do they get to the places like 100T or Cloud? They will forever be a medium/poor org because they don't get the sponsors or investors like other top orgs gets.

They get their money up and buy a franchising spot, like every other org that wants to be a household name.

You cant honestly say that you dont see the difference between XSET and orgs like Optic, C9, 100T, Fnatic and G2

But it's partnerships, not hard franchising like a OWL. It's just a better competition for the top teams/players and there will probably be an academy league. Should be more worried about what they are going to do for the T2 scene. We have heard nothing about that, thats worrying for the future of the game

They are going for the same regional league without promotion. Other orgs have to wait until a franchised org got broke.

imo league is the only game with a big enough playerbase for franchising to work in because it keeps t2 scene alive despite everything. I just don't think valorant is big enough for this not to kill the scene entirely

really sad to see so many people that dont care about the t2 scene and just label it as "bad players" and "bad orgs", people dont understand that healty systems include relegation so that the big orgs cant just sit on their ass and do nothing and incentives the smaller orgs to expand, invest and make their breakthrough, tier 2 nurtures talent and allows players that people dont expect to rise and show their skill, academy leagues are either going to be
A) like in League where its mostly washed up players that only want their paycheck and some young talent that gets picked up too late cause the washed ups are in the way
B) Like the CS academy league where most teams are super forward looking and hire 17 to 13 year olds to play, cutting off older players completely even if they have lots of talent(This is ok in CS cause the tier 2 scene is really healty in EU)

I feel like franchising might produce better games and teams overall, but it will also kill the career of a lot of players completely, players that might have done upsets or miracle runs in an open format wont be able to do that anymore, top teams that sit on their ass wont ever be upset and snapped back to reality like Sentinels when they failed to qualify for challengers at first, this is going to be a great loss for valorant esports as a whole imo, especially for the players, excluding the ones already at the top

yeah franchising kill tier 2 scene, sometimes works like League franchising, example LEC with franchising but tier 2 still working like LFL, Superliga, Ultraliga etc, i need franchising but not 3 region only, example NA VAL franchising with 10 main team + academy team so 20 team available for pros join. 10 team in latam ( BR + LATAM ), 10 team EMEA, 10 team apac south ( SEA + OCE + SA ), 10 team apac north ( Jp, kr, china, taiwan/hk, mongolia etc )

the LEC franchising isnt as much of a success as riot wants you to believe, the regional leagues that are more popular are the ones that already had a very strong national fanbase(France, Spain) while the others are most definetely an aftertought for riot, they dont really care about producing regional talent and just want them to be there so that EU Masters can look like a success so they can say "look franchising good", as an example the ITalian regional league(PG Nationals) has very few viewers and Riot isnt enforcing the "produce regional talent" objective at all, last PG Nationals split there were 0 teams with more than 2 italian players, one of the teams played most games without their only italian player by subbing him out, its kind of an embarassement and other regional leagues face the same problem, LEC franchising isnt as well oiled as riot wants you to think it is
