I think they're just not well drilled, a lot of their execute utility (and not just on this map) aren't timed right, and that was the third map where they had a bad defensive half, did good on attack, then got ecod and lost the remaining rounds

such a downgrade from last year, I actually enjoyed the antics and small talk from last year. this year it feels forced and I hate to say it but it feels like they don't know anything about the game. overall they just don't have the same chemistry as the people that were usually on the desk last year

this is the first time I've ever seen someone shit talking mibr while beating them, how bad does your team have to be for this to happen?

they were using omen blind + deadlock trap with yoru flash and tp (along with all the fade util), that's enough utility to basically guarantee the kill. the issue is that they kept mistiming it with ethan tping after the effect of the utility already ran out (also I do recall a round where they used clove decay when pushing A site but the lineup wasn't right and it missed lmfao)

yeah I don't think that comp is viable long term but it was solid enough to be used once to throw off a team (they didn't manage to play to its strengths though)

I feel like while NRG went 0-4, all of the maps were winnable if they didn't make some really obvious/avoidable mistakes. maybe the only map I thought the firepower was genuinely their main issue was lotus against sen. the rest they just kept making clear mistakes, for example on haven against g2 they let leaf walk into garage every round and they somehow still kept getting caught off guard by him (partially a comp issue, but he wasn't even catching some insane unavoidable timing).

chet got a lot of hate for the haven comp, but I thought it looked promising. on another day, victor doesn't get first blooded like 3 times on defense and they win one or two more rounds. but even ignoring that, a lot of their utility timings on both attack and defense were a second or two off from each other which is something that inevitably improves with more practice (the set ups themselves were good imo, which chet likely came up with). FNS also had a horrible performance even by his standards.

a more general issue I have with the team is that they're too "disciplined", they have a game plan and they stick strictly to it with none of them trying to make any plays even though they have a very good opportunity to do so. for example I feel like TH and gen.g have good game plans but their members aren't scared to do their own thing sometimes, meanwhile NRG play exactly by their protocols and it's impossible for the protocols to work 100% of the time (especially not in this meta)

sunset and icebox are the worst and it isn't close
