EDG lost because they didn't adapt overtime and were overconfident on their currently existing strats working because of their own individual level. It's a night and day difference compared to champs because they're literally in a different mindset now. At champs they did a fuck ton of prep regardless of who they were playing against (Trace is the exception). This was an obvious blunder behind the scenes

there's a case for NOVA if they deepen their stratbook. obviously XLG are also in discussion. even if nova do bench Swerl they still have a lot of firepower with cb guang and ezeir. there's no reason for why they can't hypothetically beat teams like XLG and DRG to make it

If i'm being real most of the game losing mistakes wasn't the macro or G2 anti-stratting them. EDG simply didn't adapt on an individual level to any of the shit G2 were throwing at them. ain't muggle's fault if they keep execing into an Omen blind and full site setup

there has to be winners and losers. every team can't succeed and a mediocre org's not likely to suddenly ascend to qualifying for internationals immediately. they're just as likely to stay middling unless they get REALLY fortunate
