Doesn't change anything. "they all have impact" doesn't mean anything if you replace 2 of your important core players with some random tier 2 players with 2 week time to prep. Also XSET placed 4th in NA, not C9. And arguably TL weren't even 4th best if you think M3C is better like they are.

G2 is comparable to The Guard. Both rose to success too quickly and ended up underperforming. Team Liquid is comparable to if NA sent XSET to Masters.

Let's see NA with OpTic without Yay and Crashies, The Guard who underperformed like they did and XSET. Then its comparable to what happened to EMEA this tournament.

1 tournament win = era?

I didn't like it because full EMEA wasn't there. Takes away from enjoyment when the best region and my favorite wasn't as competitive due to unlucky circumstances. Good for other regions tho.

EMEA still best region go cry about it

posted about 3 years ago

Can't expect much from someone from NA.

posted about 3 years ago

Even that is enough if teams actually got more than week to play without their Russian players. And Russian teams will still be scrimming and improving the region as a whole.

This tournament didn't tell anything about EMEA or its future. EMEA weren't even the favorites going into this tournament and if that doesn't tell something after Champions then I don't know.

Oh Envy/OpTic fans already forgetting how Redgar Reyna shit on them?

Unlucky tournament for EMEA. Will come back much stronger. So many good teams and upcoming so the region will improve faster than any other region like always. Especially when meta just changed and some EMEA teams are clearly behind meta.

EMEA not best region COPIUM

Can't really blame them. Had to play multiple games in short period of time and last being against Fnatic that was mentally and strat wise straining while being unsure about can they even attend. Also G2 were peaking at that time and it was first G2 game where they actually looked good, so maybe they weren't expecting as good performance.

FPX, whole Fnatic and M3C would have been dominating in Masters 1. They suit perfectly to this meta.

EU likes to win in front of crowd anyway

Need to remember that Gambit CSGO team is likely way more expensive than their Valorant team.

EU living rent free in NA's head just proof. Really happy about EMEA even if they didn't get far this Masters. We will have at least 10 international contender teams at end of this year.

posted about 3 years ago

They are really similar. G2 with 2 new players, new structure, new IGL, new coach. Also improved a lot and rose to big success in short period of time just like The Guard. That second part being the most important. Also most of both team's players underperformed in LAN setting.

posted about 3 years ago

The Guard got shit on too and are pretty similar case to G2. G2 placed 2nd in EMEA and even then they arguably weren't even 3rd best in EMEA. My opinion about this didn't change when they placed 2nd in EMEA and haven't changed because of how they performed here. Both M3C and Fnatic showed higher levels, but got kind of unlucky. Not taking away from G2 tho, they improved a lot in short period of time. And I think that is why they didn't perform. Just too short time of success and maybe they were little arrogant. Also FPX, Fnatic and M3C would have been perfect for current meta. All teams can drive in chaos and that has been the theme in Masters so far.

posted about 3 years ago

Kind of true tho. They didn't play to their strengths and weren't doing anything crazy. Compared to their game against M3C for example. Also their players weren't hitting shit and whiffed a lot. And historically Fnatic suck online and especially in games that don't matter. Copium, but I think there's some truth to it.

Fnatic lost seeding game (off-day as well looking at their fundamentals) against team that peaked during EMEA playoffs. Also FPX losing one group game against LDN UTD isn't bad. That's like saying OpTic is shit if they lost group game against XSET.

True as EMEA fan. Not having your best team(s, arguably) here and one of the best having to play with 2 stand-ins is cancer and makes really uninteresting when nerfed to oblivion. But I'm happy and its good for Japan, Brazil, APAC and Korea.

Also this format sucked ass, I don't like how some teams instantly place to playoffs.

Also the hype for this event hasn't been as big as for others, but that is understandable.

Marved has been carrying this game so hard for OpTic. He single handedly won Haven for them. And FNS is IGLing. So this game Canada > USA 100%.

Expected with EMEA nerfs.

No problem. Coming back stronger for Masters 2 and winning it. Just unlucky tournament with world situation. Or tbh those problems will likely exist even for next Masters, but we still have competitive full non-Russian teams. Luckily we have teams to pick from.

OpTic is being carried by Canadian

carrying OpTic without him Zeta 3-0

posted about 3 years ago

Zeta will not perform well next Masters. Calling it right now. Come back when that happens.

Liquid for sure. They have bunch of cool and fun videos with their Valorant roster. Pretty active with them as well.

posted about 3 years ago

They barely won after having their smoke player have his map of the life. On their pick as well. I don't think LOUD fans should be too worried unless their map selection sucks idk. But yeah OpTic will still 3-0. LOUD players will choke.

Their new roster will be banging

I mean Marved is having map of his life. Literally solo carrying OpTic.

cNed best Oper and Jett (mainly ability usage, positioning etc) in the world IMO.

EMEA easily the best, NA second, APAC 3rd, then BR, KR, JP and LATAM are one team regions so I don't know how to rate them.

posted about 3 years ago

They are not overhyped. Seeding match while clearly having off-day doesn't mean anything. Considering that they 5-0'd their group and looked flawless in their game against M3C. They would have been easily really strong contender and would still be in most likely.

13th next month I'm pretty sure. But jokes aside he isn't proven in tier 1 yet so I'm really excited to see how he does against good teams.

Why do you even keep commenting when you clearly haven't watched any Fnatic outside of LAN events lmao. Imagine calling 2021 Derke consistent if you count both online and LAN.
