How did you first become a DRG fan?

posted 6 days ago

My point was just that the better team is not gonna win every game, even if they’re much better. I mean PRX beat everyone else in their group but Zeta Division lol

posted 6 days ago

Then why did they go 3rd the next masters and beat the winning team T1 in that tournament

posted 6 days ago

Well yeah, no team is the best at every tournament. Also, even if a 9/10 team beat a 10/10 team to win a tournament it still isn’t a fluke

There might be a worm in your brain

posted 6 days ago

I almost don’t want them to qualify. They are so frustrating to watch

posted 6 days ago

Finished 2nd in Europe in stage 2, losing only to FNC. They then finished 4th at champs. Pretty damn good.

posted 6 days ago

I’d argue against it because T1 are arguably the 2nd best team in Pacific, maybe 3rd depending on Talon’s performances and how you rate GenG and DRX. They also have previous masters mvp Meteor and two really good veterans.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think G2 also had the map veto advantage and T1 still beat them

I got an interview for a job and got hotpot for dinner

The finished 3rd in the next masters. 0/10 ragebait

I’ve seen this take so many times with people calling different Masters or Champs winning teams flukes, or saying that a Masters is worth less than others.

If a team wins a Masters tourney then it isn’t a fluke. Basically every team we’ve ever seen win a Masters or Champs was very good at some point in the same year, or had a great core of players with previous success. Regardless, they had to beat multiple of the best teams in the world to win the trophy.

Calling winners flukes when every match is a series is dumb (compared to a sport like American football)

No it isn’t lol. Also if a team wins a Masters tourney then it isn’t a fluke. Basically every team we’ve ever seen win a Masters or Champs was very good at some point in the same year, or had a great core of players with previous success.

I don’t think there’s a that big of a difference between DRX and DFM. You’re gonna lose some 70-30 games and win some 30-70 games. It happens

posted 6 days ago

I think they’re all pretty much the same. Regardless of 8 vs 12 vs 16 teams, you still need to beat the best teams in the world to win. I don’t count an extra game or two against weaker teams as making a big difference.

More braindead vlr takes

Wdym it’s true lol

For a real answer: he and other players/staff at EDG had a lot of issues with one another, and it just wasn’t working out. There were problems with his lack of communication in game and shutting down mentally, and he also criticized other players in an unprofessional way. The vibes were just unfixable.

posted 6 days ago

I didn’t see anything about PRX being interested in signing him

posted 6 days ago

People in these vlr forums will just spew nonsense constantly

posted 6 days ago

It’s hard to even consider making moves like that when you just won a trophy earlier this year. Obviously it feels very far away now, but still

DH isn’t the problem, he’s been generally decent this split. The vets on the team should be stepping up more. The performance of everyone except DH today was unacceptable

Brain damage take

They don’t need Patmen to frag super hard, just to do his job. He does it quite well

A truly great performance by Jinggg

I saw the game tonite and saw Jow on Six Karma is popping off. I checked his recent match history and he seemingly plays well every single match like clockwork. Does anyone know more about him?

The Talon law states that they must lose to DRX to maintain balance

posted 1 week ago

This is also a bit of revisionist history. Derke most certainly did not bring them back 3-11 “single-handedly”. Alfajer was 16-5 in the second half of that game and the rest of the squad turned up too.

posted 1 week ago

Small correction, Derke was great during Bangkok but Chichoo was clearly the best

posted 1 week ago

Definitely, PRX were just the better team that day. The map bans also made a big difference

posted 1 week ago

Leo was better. Crashies has had a lot of great moments and is a good player, but Leo was both statistically and visually a better player.

Batu Yoru breaks Bo3 kill record and boaster cries

posted 1 week ago

I’d rather see a new team win it

posted 1 week ago

I believe in both teams to be a headache for their opponents, but I don’t think either team has shown enough consistency to believe in them. If Talon win any 2 playoff games in a row I’m all in though

posted 1 week ago

No he most certainly is not

posted 1 week ago

DRG has a real shot, EDG has not been looking great so even if DRG lose next week the lower bracket is still very doable

posted 1 week ago

He’s had 7 months playing in tier 1, that’s a considerable amount of time

posted 1 week ago

If Wolves miss out on champs (likely) then how would you change their roster? I think Juicy has to go. Despite Wolves making it deep in Toronto, Juicy had several horrific maps and looked completely clueless in multiple series, most notably against GenG. It felt like the team was winning in spite of him sometimes. In stage 2, he’s arguably looked even worse. I think Wolves need to seriously trial tier 2 players or look for an existing upgrade because he just looks lost way too often

Thanks!

posted 1 week ago

Weird feeling it’ll be RRQ 2-0

posted 1 week ago

DRG has to finish top 3 to eliminate Wolves. I’m not sure exactly how the tiebreakers work between them and wolves, I just know that that’s the situation

posted 1 week ago

No sir, it is chichoo. I knew it would be hard. During their champs run TMV referred to chichoo as “number 9” because he ranked him 9th in the previous masters and it didn’t go well

posted 1 week ago

If you don’t like valorant then shut up and go play cs2, nobody asked for your opinion

posted 1 week ago

RRQ and XLG are mine. Both teams bombed out of Toronto but I like a lot of what I’m seeing from them now. Both look scary when they’re feeling it.

posted 1 week ago

happywei looks like a PROBLEM, I love watching him play

posted 1 week ago

Estrella has been looking better recently though, and his igling is definitely improving

posted 1 week ago

100%, important piece on two championship winning rosters

Number 9
Hint: my flair

posted 1 week ago

They’ve been looking better and better throughout the split, it’s hard to argue that they aren’t a real champs contender

posted 1 week ago

It appears this thread forgot DRX exists…

For China:
happywei
whzy
Rarga (running double duelist with him on Yoru)
rushia
Shr1mp

The only issue is that I don’t know who the igl is for some of these teams, so I’m not sure if I got one
