I think they could at least be competitive for making it out of group stage
I don't see the argument for MIBR above C9
It's weird, he deserves more credit for the Lev run but was also a big reason why they lost to EDG on abyss
Yes but if we’re having an argument over best player in the world, having great domestic stats alone isn’t enough. International stats and team success have to matter
But how can you argue he was the best player over that stretch when he didn’t win anything and wasn’t considered the best player. Players like Meteor won 2 fmvps. Aspas was great domestically in 2024 but several other players had more success and better international stats.
I mean that’s objectively wrong. He was not the best player at champs 2024 or anytime after
He is overhated sometimes, but a lot of it is because he got a lot more credit and praise than he deserved. He has been an excellent player for his career, but people often downplay the accomplishments and skill of his teammates to prop him up. An easy example is LOUD. People often discount his teammates even though it included a great IGL, MVP pAncada, and the beast that is Less. Not to mention 2x champ Sacy!
He also does have a habit of playing for kills and his life instead of his outs
He has as long as he plays decently
Anyone who says that needs to get their head checked
If talon wins they qualify and DRX does not, if Talon loses then DRX qualifies and Talon does not
Isn’t this game basically meaningless for playoffs
This game isn’t very important, just changes it first round matchup is 100T or Lev
I definitely agree, but I also think that the players individually don’t seem to make adjustments to how they play, like their specific positioning on site or what timings they chose to take
Of course their biggest problem is choking away big leads, and we’ve seen them get nervous when it gets closer, but I think their core issue is this: a lack of adjustments.
It seems like GenG will do well in a half until their opponent finds something that works, then GenG won’t adjust to deal with it. For example, on Sunset vs RRQ, GenG were getting very little value out of their viper wall and getting massacred backsite, but they never really adjusted to it. They just kept running the same Viper wall anyways.
Pretty much everyone on the team doesn’t change their setup very much even when it’s clearly not working anymore. Maybe it’s a system thing, or maybe it’s an issue with the players. Coaches should def have some blame.
He is the guy Aspas gf tells him not to worry about
Bad time for a Dante stinker
Yeah but the odds of all those things happening together is still very low
PRX definitely wanna be the 1 seed in their champs group
Personal favorite is Boston’s first album Boston. Only has bangers
How did you first become a DRG fan?
My point was just that the better team is not gonna win every game, even if they’re much better. I mean PRX beat everyone else in their group but Zeta Division lol
Then why did they go 3rd the next masters and beat the winning team T1 in that tournament
Well yeah, no team is the best at every tournament. Also, even if a 9/10 team beat a 10/10 team to win a tournament it still isn’t a fluke
I almost don’t want them to qualify. They are so frustrating to watch
Finished 2nd in Europe in stage 2, losing only to FNC. They then finished 4th at champs. Pretty damn good.
I’d argue against it because T1 are arguably the 2nd best team in Pacific, maybe 3rd depending on Talon’s performances and how you rate GenG and DRX. They also have previous masters mvp Meteor and two really good veterans.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think G2 also had the map veto advantage and T1 still beat them
I got an interview for a job and got hotpot for dinner
The finished 3rd in the next masters. 0/10 ragebait
I’ve seen this take so many times with people calling different Masters or Champs winning teams flukes, or saying that a Masters is worth less than others.
If a team wins a Masters tourney then it isn’t a fluke. Basically every team we’ve ever seen win a Masters or Champs was very good at some point in the same year, or had a great core of players with previous success. Regardless, they had to beat multiple of the best teams in the world to win the trophy.
Calling winners flukes when every match is a series is dumb (compared to a sport like American football)
No it isn’t lol. Also if a team wins a Masters tourney then it isn’t a fluke. Basically every team we’ve ever seen win a Masters or Champs was very good at some point in the same year, or had a great core of players with previous success.
I don’t think there’s a that big of a difference between DRX and DFM. You’re gonna lose some 70-30 games and win some 30-70 games. It happens
I think they’re all pretty much the same. Regardless of 8 vs 12 vs 16 teams, you still need to beat the best teams in the world to win. I don’t count an extra game or two against weaker teams as making a big difference.
For a real answer: he and other players/staff at EDG had a lot of issues with one another, and it just wasn’t working out. There were problems with his lack of communication in game and shutting down mentally, and he also criticized other players in an unprofessional way. The vibes were just unfixable.
I didn’t see anything about PRX being interested in signing him
People in these vlr forums will just spew nonsense constantly
It’s hard to even consider making moves like that when you just won a trophy earlier this year. Obviously it feels very far away now, but still
DH isn’t the problem, he’s been generally decent this split. The vets on the team should be stepping up more. The performance of everyone except DH today was unacceptable
They don’t need Patmen to frag super hard, just to do his job. He does it quite well
A truly great performance by Jinggg
I saw the game tonite and saw Jow on Six Karma is popping off. I checked his recent match history and he seemingly plays well every single match like clockwork. Does anyone know more about him?
The Talon law states that they must lose to DRX to maintain balance
This is also a bit of revisionist history. Derke most certainly did not bring them back 3-11 “single-handedly”. Alfajer was 16-5 in the second half of that game and the rest of the squad turned up too.
