job itself doesnt discriminate or discourage but when a particular job is heavily skewed in population towards a particular gender/community - others feel harder to enter and survive the space - whether it is esports for women or being a elementary school teacher for men, these jobs can be done by anyone who is passionate about it and there is no biological disadvantage. Affirmative action such as a Challengers series for minority groups in esports helps ease the entry and survival of those who are genuinely interested in the profession, nobody is forcing anyone to play.

theres no "women are good at cooking" rather its a job they are expected to do for their family as the man goes out to earn a living. women are not expected or even encouraged to earn financial benefit from their cooking. Being a chef in a commercial kitchen or even as a small time vendor (as seen in Asian countries) is completely different - it comes under going out and making a living - a category which has mostly been male dominated unless areas such as nurses, or even a gynecologist.

vlr not exactly the place for making people feel warm/welcome. thats the job of their org and the players will have to learn to deal with the heat. they will be flamed if they flop or mce becomes a goat for scouting if they do OK. either way it will only last a few days, unless ofc one is Shazam.

dumbest take ever. there are women presidents, doctors, engineers, lawyers, sportspersons etc.. meanwhile you are?

posted about 2 years ago

gender roles - "women are good at x, men are good at y" creates a society where men are discouraged to do x and women are discouraged to y. Thus creating a disparity.

you are right lol, vlr will downvote anything said against a pro if they are in the thread. why would he stop himself and say like a "guy" if he was gonna call him an idiot. You can call people idiots on stream.

nothing is new under the sun, there are things which even CS has taken an inspiration out of from old era games - its just that those games died no one really knows about them. Marketing and innovating over an established game takes innovation and hard work of its own.

Also alot of those "technologically gifted" developers have worked for both companies

im not live tho

if they made too many changes then it wouldnt really feel like CS.. it would just be another game and then people wouldnt be happy with that either. I agree about them taking too much time for updates, its almost as if Valve doesnt care about continuous improvement like Riot is.

CS2 changes of tick rate doesnt do shit atleast in US where CS in general is dead. I played the game a few weeks back, it is unplayable because of ass matchmaking, cheaters and servers are just deserted. Valorant on the other hand is thriving, and I know alot of high elo Val players are ex CS players, but there are alot of new Val players joining to play the game where as CS is just old generation. I dont think CS can beat Valorant in US.

posted about 2 years ago

not really, but CS is dead where I am (USA), not because it isnt colorful and abilities and stuff but it is really unplayable. too many cheaters, matchmaking is shit and most of the servers are deserted, so the tick rate server changes nothing for us. This will not disrupt Valorant atleast here.

pancada vs marved is 3-3 so u cant really say one is better than the other. anyway dephh is sentinel, marved is 6th man/content creator.

nobody but a reminder that runi - the next IGL for C9 was knocked out by ORE in NA T2 LCQ

posted about 2 years ago

i think jakee is going to be 6th man, qpert would probably be on the starting roster. Id be more worried about runi.. the guy who lost to OREsports as an IGL in NA t2 LCQ (OREsports is 0-4 in Challengers btw) -- is he going to compete against the likes of FNS, Saadhak etc? Also i think match day experience beats talent on most days. runi has absolutely no credentials to be franchised and playing as an IGL leading the likes of zellsis, xeppaa, leaf on stage. I would love to be proven wrong though, cause who doesnt like an underrated winner

at this point, i would've preferred BabyJ - atleast it would be content.. no hate for these kids but cant imagine how their hands would be shaking on LAN when they play again LOUD, NRG, SEN, LEV etc

posted about 2 years ago

scrims wont translate to match day.. even if these guys are half decent - i bet their hands will be shaking against NRG, LOUD on LAN..

love to hear about these EU wet dreams... NA is what made him and C9 doesnt represent the whole of NA. He could take his revenge by joining a different NA org

dont confuse viewership with quality, NA viewership is because of influencers like tarik carrying the scene. Even if t2 orgs in NA practise with t1 orgs - it doesnt automatically mean they will get better, also the number of teams getting out of ascension is the same. Added incentive for LATAM t2 players is that if they are insane, high paying NA orgs can buy them without worrying about imports.

posted about 2 years ago

csgo never died in EU and other regions, why would cs2 die? NA CSGO is dead so CS2 wont make a difference unless they bring in monumental changes.

you need a culture surrounding the game to develop it, there isnt much culture around Football in NA like in EU and Brazil. Also alot of European club footballers are all imports from other countries - especially of African descent who have great athletic ability + they get the necessary training in EU. Given the fact that USA has enough money to import the talent + provide the facilities to train and pay them -- all that is needed is a culture to be developed. US will own yall if and when that happens

all English speakers watch and follow the NA scene + the players, EU is more diverse with different languages which is why the numbers get diluted. Its like how every English speaking person knows/watches Hollywood.

posted about 2 years ago

never proved himself as a pro - played on 100t for a hot minute + pros say hes hard to play with + did not even try to compete in tier 3/tier 2 to play for an ascension team which means he wont play pro the entire year BUT he says he is franchised level player for who ascension is micky mouse. Delusional enough to think that he will be picked up by a franchised org while he sits on his ass cosplaying Sage and doing sub games

posted about 2 years ago

COVID + US is strict with visas as there is an interview for most countries - so an international LAN is tough to host here.

posted about 2 years ago

how so? Its literally 3-3. If you really wanna count Lock-in then its 4-3 but Lock-IN will never happen again, was an introductory tournament with single elimination - Riot literally mentioned that the purpose of this tournament was to introduce every franchised team. Not sure why EU is behaving like they won Champions.
