Yeah this is pretty bad for Koi.
Ibai is the main driving factor behind the interest in KOI.

His co-streams and influence are probably the main reasons why Koi made franchising.
It seems the merge with rogue for the LEC spot has created more trouble than expected.

Ok from what I'm understanding is the Ibai should still have the VCT spot. Unsure about LEC.

Wow.

https://www.sheepesports.com/articles/sources-ibai-llanos-set-to-part-ways-with-infinite-reality-owners-of-koi-and-carolina-royal/en

The decision by Llanos, better known as Ibai, has reportedly been months in the making and would see him leave after extensive negotiations over his exit. Sources say that he is now in the process of planning a new project.

Is North America not a continent?

posted about a year ago

You can’t compare a continent to a country lil bro.

Which one is supposed to be the country here?

Solid roster.
Obviously Kadavra is the biggest pull here.
Juseu is pretty good (atleast from what ive watched)
Newzera/keloqz were pretty poor players in VCT but a lot of their misfortune was down to their whole team being dysfunctional.
Marctylinho i have no clue.

Still nice to see french VRL still being strong and having continuing investment/orgs.

Very good.

Their roster building reminds me of fnatic in a way.

They've found a good coach-igl duo.
And have been slowly upgrading the pieces around it with a mixture of high quality players or young high potential talents

Fut might actually just be top 2 emea.
Their roster building has been really good over the years

If you are talking about Less/Alfajer that's because they were grandfathered in.

Vct Roster Construction rule book 2023 (section 2.12):

Grandfathering. As an exception to the Minimum Age Requirement in Section 2.1.1. above, an individual that competed in a Challengers main event in any VCT League in 2022 and was born between March 26, 2005 and March 26, 2006, is eligible to participate if a parent or legal guardian accepts all of the rules and policies of the League on behalf of the individual, and consents to the individual participation using a parental consent form provided by the League Entity.

He will be 18 in April 2025.

Which (Judging by the new rules) means he will be ineligible for atleast the first few events of VCT 2025.

It's really not delusional to have demon1 over aspas (or the other way around), you can make a valid argument for both.

What aspas has over demon1 is performing very well at lock//in and a higher and move consistent level during americas.
Aspas has had a high level of performance throughout the entire vct season.

What demon1 has over aspas is performing better individually and placement wise in the two biggest events of the year.
Demon1 started the season late however his performances kept improving and growing, which led to him earning the mvp at the biggest event of the year.

Leaf gained notoriety during his time in chaos, which was during COVID btw.

And we are talking about NA cs so divide his achievements by 2.

M0nesy?
Dude was bought for like 600k at the age of 16.

Or zen, literally best rocket league player at the age of 16.

EU T2 was close to T1 last year, apeks was a prime example of that.

T1 teams have now picked up alot of T2 players in emea.

We have to wait and see what the T2 emea rosters look like before we can say anything (besides fireflux have been cooking)

Slowly now playing valorant wow.

Me personally I would have derke number 1.
Greatest longevity for a duelist to date.
One of the best space takers in the game.

I understand why others would have aspas number 1, he is phenomenal.

Also tenz isn't a one tournament wonder, he had very good performances multiple international events in 2021.

Haaland with 0 goals in semi-finals or finals.
Also just watch the two, you are comparing a guy that can do everything versus a penalty box poacher.

Lewandowski wasn't a robbery, it only seems like it because the ballon d'or was cancelled in 2020.

Cash injections are very normal is esports, majority of orgs do not make profit.
Still is funny to make fun of sentinels for being "broke" though.

posted about a year ago

yeah most likely since USA/China are on the other side of the bracket.
lenny versus leave would be cool.
unless KSA are actually good.

Anyone watching?

It's pretty fun, definitely the best example of a world cup format in esports.

Japan beating france on day 1 was crazy.
The UK (7lions) were looking clean after beating canada yesterday.

Japan vs Saudi Arabia will be a fun game to watch.

South Korea will most likely win the whole thing though.

posted about a year ago

Messi will probably win, the world cup performance really sways the votes.
On the club level for psg he did pretty okay, 2 trophies (though its in france), though their champions league campaign was lacklustre.

Haaland is the kinda opposite, he's purely goal output.
The way pep utilises him reduces haaland to a 6-yard box poacher.
Haaland lacks the big moments, didn't score in any of man city cup semi-final of finals.

sorry i didnt explain it properly.

If fnatic made the grandfinals from the lower bracket they would've been forced to play a bo5 without any map bans.
With PRX being the team with the bans its almost guaranteed they would've played pearl.

I think if the agent drafts were more similar to league, in the way that its a cascade drafting system and we can see what agent the opponent picks, we would get more variance.

Just allowing the ability to counter pick would add another angle to the game, maybe not important at the moment but could be more influential when the agent pool expands (Meta changes).

posted about a year ago

Yeah pretty sure, there was a chance they could've been forced to play it if they made a deeper run at champs.
"deeper run as in if they made the grand finals from the lower bracket*

Leviatan.
I had really high hopes for that roster especially after their performances in VCT 2022.

Leviatan had what I envisioned as a LATAM super team, they picked up all the "best" latam players from 2022 whilst keeping a strong core.
So much firepower with Kingg/keznit, smart acquisitions like getting nzr.
Shyy was a player I thought could really excel this year after breaking into the Leviatan first team in split 2 of 2022.
And they had Onur who I believed was a top coach.

Hopefully riot expands it to 16 teams but judging by what Leo Faria said in the past it is unlikely.
Right now with 8 teams the slot distribution is fine.

posted about a year ago

I'm not upset that we are shit it's more the fact we were so close to qualifying multiple times with multiple teams.
Considering where FNC were in spring.... to be 1 game off playoffs is incredible.
G2 yeah that was a bit of a disappointment, games were very fun to watch though.

Happy NRG made it though, kinda funny how most of their players came up through NA t2 and thats just been abolished.
Still need to see if Nrg can be competitive versus the east.

s1mple has everything needed to be considered the best.
He has incredible individual performances, 3 HLTV player of the year awards.
He has the titles to back it up, including a major.
What is also worth noting is that he has the iconic moments that makes him memorable, that is what cements his legacy.

interesting.
but id expect there would be some work around.
like scriming in an apac server.
pretty sure chinese teams do scrim apac quite frequently.

what i was saying was more that china isn't that isolated.
they can scrim and learn from apac.

posted about a year ago

I don't think a team needs to overtake edg for the region to improve.
As long as there is always someone challenging them then they should stay improving.

The way the VCT model is really helps china.
Constant international exposure will always help a region to grow.

Also it's worth to mention that VCT pacific being in south korea makes scrims possible between CN and APAC.

In terms of the quality of the Tier 1 teams at the event , it is possible a tier 2 team could do well.
Single elim bracket does make it more possible.

Dsyre are looking the best right now, I think they will be competitive versus the VCT teams but it's near impossible gage how good these franchised teams will look like atm.
It might actually be positive for them if they play another T2 team in the quarters just so they can get some more experience on lan (pretty sure its a lan), also get some footage of the t1 teams.
