he was one of the best CEOs in the entire esports scene+ a very influential voice. G2 and liquid were easily the top fan-favourite orgs. He could EASILY have kept his job too.
but he decided to die on one of the weirdest hills i've ever seen someone stake a career on in my life.

because for a league as grassroots as gc is, it'd be more affected by this rank requirement than most of the normal leagues. if the entire goal of gc is to funnel talent into actual leagues, then increasing standard of play with stricter requirements than normal is kinda good for the scene......imo. Even tho chall leagues are asc+ req., a decent 50% of the t2 scene are already well established pros.

i didnt consider challenger teams when i thought through this (i basically considered them t1), and was mostly focusing on teams/players that didn't make challengers
it would also make more sense for the non-challenger players to keep grinding Valorant in the hopes of getting picked up by a challenger team rather than switching and having to start over
isn't the t2 scene in cs way more lucrative tho? surely they'd have to kinda start over but i feel if they put as much effort into it as most teams were doing trying to make ascension they could easily fit into t2. maybe im wrong tho
t2 cs is way more lucrative than t2 val tho atm
there are a decent amount of t2 tourneys with good prize pools, and the path to recognition by a t1 team has never been freer
i feel most val players, if they put as much effort into grinding out cs and they did val, could easily make it in t2 NA and possibly even ascend to t1, and the influx of new talent along with the clout some of these players possess could spark some form of revival in the scene. idk
p sure t1 NA talent is already getting paid pretty decently lol wym. i'd recommend t2 na val players switching to cs if anything
