eg did well in tokyo yes but loud also had a bad tourney, prx were playing with a sub, drx had termi perma fucking zest and foxy9, and navi was falling off. The only teams that were at their peak that tournament were nrg liquid and fnc, and that too eg lost gf 0-3

champs was way more competitive, where we saw that teams that were previously considered ok to pretty good like prx and edg became actual threats, and teams like loud and drx that shit the bed at tokyo actually dialed tf in

posted 1 week ago

pacific OVERALL are not the best region, they are just very top and bottom heavy

emea OVERALL has more b-a tier teams like bbl navi gx kc and vit whereas pacific teams fall much more into either a-s like geng prx t1 and drx or like bottom of the barrel like ge ts zeta boom

posted 1 week ago

2022 loud were definitely underdogs especially after copenhagen

2023 was the best underdog story in all of valorant there is 0 way eg were not underdogs

I just want termi to go man

Phoenix provides flashes + he has a good ult, its just hes completely outclassed by kayo, who's not even meta rn. Iso ult and shield are niche plus they require the player to actually be good (as we could see from bind today), and he doesnt provide any actual util other than maybe uppercut.

Harbor is extremely underrated imo as he provides the ability to create completely unique smokes and allows you to break up the map into as much or as little space as you want to take, plus cove is a pretty good ability on maps like icebox, pearl, and abyss where you want to get bomb down quickly. Clove is just worse than brim who is worse than asstra who is worse than omen

posted 1 week ago

Yeah but when I look at like fnc bind or bbl ascent I see tejo get a lot of value with missiles that no other agent can really get, plus he has a really good drone. Breach on the other hand while not terrible can be kinda fully replaced by kayo in any comp/map

posted 1 week ago

we jsut witnessed the most intense fun one of the closest bo3 this entire year...

posted 1 week ago

W take he didn't invent it, he was just really really good at it very early on

posted 1 week ago

yeah but I mean neon has a higher ceiling imo and her more flexible movement + stun and wall being better than jett smokes make her more viable at a much higher level

posted 1 week ago

Valid list although I would slightly side tejo over breach only bc kayo is a better breach in almost every way whereas tejo has no complete alternative agent

posted 1 week ago

Tejo or Breach?
Jett or Neon?
Deadlock or KJ?
Clove or Harbor?
Vyse or Cypher?
Phoenix or Iso?

  1. It literally happened in the regular season, between toronto and stage 2. Its not part of the vct season but it happened during the season
  2. A majority of teams had the opportunity to qualify, and 16 is the same number as champs
  3. Soop and sen city actually happen during the offseason when the stakes are a lot lower and teams are just testing rosters/having fun. Plus theyre partially invitationals and have a mix of a few t1 and t2 teams. A good amount of teams dont even participate bc they are actually building a roster
  4. Yes but the stakes were lower and it was with new rosters, so teams dont actively prep nearly as much. Sen in the 2023-24 off season looked pretty good, but they really stepped up in 2024. Heretics looked way worse before ewc, whereas after ewc heading back into stage 2 they looked another step up
  5. Like I said, you don't seem to understand the words during and part. It's not part of the official vct season, but it happened during it. The trophy is not going to be as memorable/impactful as a masters/champs, but it is definitely not worthless LOL.

if sociablee can play like he did on sunset and lewn can stop tilt throwing rounds then bbl look like clear favorites

posted 1 week ago

nah this year was especially rough for them

fut always had a low floor but a high ceiling, and even though they were inconsistent they could show up when it mattered in the past. This year with more "mid table" teams like bbl gx kc vit and navi becoming way more competitive, fut really looked terrible when they lost, and even when they won it really didnt look good (vs m8)

posted 1 week ago

No, it happened during the regular season, used a pretty normal format, had the majority of t1 teams, and for the most part functioned as a regular tournament. I'm not arguing that its a masters, but if we compare it to like lock in the only difference is that its not hosted by riot. If the tournament itself played similar enough to a regular tournament, and the teams were trying as hard to win (which for 95% of teams, they were), then yes it's a legitimate trophy

posted 1 week ago

Just because a girl does OF does not mean she is not a strip------

????????????

also yes it is an offseason event but I would say its similar to lock in bc almost every t1 team played to qualify, and only g2 and drx were playing with subs. Format was kinda weird but if you look back to like some 2021 tournaments or lock in then ewc doesnt look completely out of place. Just because it isnt directly from riot doesnt mean it holds any different weight to if riot held that exact tournament. Ofc its not a masters but I still think its a trophy nonetheless and should be considered as such

posted 1 week ago

EWC definitely holds more weight than sen city or soop lol... not as much as a masters but it still is a trophy
