One of the top reply says - "Many places in India are strictly vegan, i.e no alcohol for you mate"

1) Hardly anyone in India is vegan. Though the majority is vegetarian. There is a huuuuuuge difference between Veganism and Vegetarianism.

2) Vegans can drink alcohol.

3) Except for some states, feel free to drink as much alcohol you like.

Cannot believe how much misinformation is spread on twitter like holy shit.

That too after your IGL says "Japan bad and we knife them in scrimms".

No disrespect to PRX (they are a great team) and no excuses but GE really had a bad day and PRX had a good game and you forgot that Riot is such an idiot for not hosting a LAN for the largest continent in the world but held it for 2 countries in NA LCQ.

Also you cannot forget that GE there was a hurricane in Chennai that day and PRX lost a round where 3 members of GE disconnected. That just shows how bad the connection from GE side was. When there were no storms or problems, they did well.

The same translates to pro play, unfortunately.

In pugs, this is exactly the playstyle you should go for, my account in EU server is ranked higher (despite higher ping and less time given) than on Asia. However when you do this in professional matches, everything goes bad.

Just look at how many Asian teams rely on a "star duelist".

PRX has Forsaken (now Jingg)
X10 has Patiphan (or at least used to have)
GE has SkRossi
and the list goes on, of course, the other players are not trash they just don't get the limelight. PRX d4vai is also their star player but you could associate it with the fact that he is also a duelist main but plays other roles in pro play. GE lightningfast also has insane mechanics and is a very young player developing his skills and used to play a duelist in the early days of valorant and now shifted to a sentinel/controller.

while in NA/EU every player has a shining moment, take SEN for example where sick, dapr, tenz, shahzam, zombs, pretty much everyone is a star player. "TenZ" joining SEN was not there to carry them, but just a final piece of the puzzle.

Anyhow, yeah wtf, what is up with high ranked EU/NA people not being able to go beyond gold in Asia. I am pretty sure I met a person from EU immortal who could not go beyond plat 1 when he was in Asia.

Ok so, Vlt might be better than GE at the moment after their acquisition of Deathmaker and by a significant margin.
We are yet to see that though, GE only played one game with VLT after VCC in which they lost, but that may be due to the fact that they wanted to get out of tournaments for APAC LCQ.

Enigma is better than before.
XO is just not every at this point. (Still good but not where they used to be)

These 4 teams basically compromised the Indian valorant scene on the top. There were many small teams but obviously not too good.

Recently new teams have come up and are doing good. S8ul has acquired a part of Enigma's old roster and they are decent (Almost close to XO).

Apart from that, many new teams like M24, Weird Esports, Team Valor, Reckoning, and whatnot have come up and they get surprisingly close to VLT.
Scorelines like 13-11 or even overtimes are common. Since these are teams with no proper Bootcamp yet, they need some time and investment (6 months), and at least 2-3 teams will actually become good.

Enigma can actually beat VLT on a good day and in fact, have done so. Enigma has also beaten GE multiple times (at instants where GE was not throwing) Team Valor also beat GE (GE trolled on 1 map like literally, Rossi on sage was walling off teammates) but on the last map on which they tried hard, they still lost. I Gotta give it to Valor.

Regarding other regions, TE is still decent (comparable to 4-5th position in India) but definitely lost that top 2-3 spot they got in VCC. HsB is still an amazing player and Shooter is a good duelist as always but as a team I think they miss the IGL they had in Storaxx.

Salt is comparable to India 7-8th which is the second-best team in Pakistan.

Regarding Bangladesh, Exceeli esports took VLT to overtime and very close scores in VCC and that was without SSSami which was perhaps one of the best duelists in SA. SSSami is from Bangladesh but played in Indian teams. He returned to Exceeli recently so expect them to be much better than before.

I don't follow Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Afganistan so cannot comment. All I can say is one of Sri Lanka's best player Hikka plays for Enigma.

Again what is your point? It is clear what everyone is trying to say and you are just pointing out details that are not relevant.

I clearly mean that -
1) FS has played with teams that have played internationally. (X10, PRX)
2) Nth has played with teams that have played internationally. (CR, Zeta)
3) Damwon has played with teams that have played internationally. (F4Q, VS, Nuturn)
4) Reject has played with teams that have played internationally. (CR, Zeta)
5) Fennel has played with teams that have played internationally. (CR, Zeta)
6) Boom has played with teams that have played internationally. (X10, PRX)

I have summarized them so that it's easy to read.

GE has not played with any team with who we can gauge their skill either them having international experience themselves or playing with teams who have been to masters.

"SEA is different than JP and KR, they have different VCT"

Damn, thanks for the info sherlock.

posted about 2 years ago

And these were the teams they lost to while almost beating F4Q.

They beat Damwon Kia regardless. Your point?

FS, Damwon, Nth had all played teams like PRX, X10, F4Q, VS and Nuturn who have played and done well internationally.

GE has always played in a capsuled environment where we could not judge their level since there was no connection with teams internationally except some 3rd party tournaments 1 year ago.

Explanation of some "debatable placements" :

X10 copium. I think that this team got put in a tough bracket in Iceland and Patiphan was injured recently. I think they have become much stronger.

VS: Came out as no.1 in the death group in Berlin. Faced Gambit which was unlucky NGL. Could have done much better if not for Gambit.

Rise: Could have been at C tier tbh.

Tier list:
https://imgur.com/a/SJWr47a

I have based them within tiers. The skill of the team decreases going from left to right.

The questions were framed in such a way that forces him to make such statements.

Imagine asking this to some new player: Who will you destroy in a 1v1? tenz or yay.

The player answers one of these as one name is expected.

Would you call that cocky? He never really meant it on his own, the words were forced from his mouth.

Rossi might not be the most humble guy but he knows where he stands and is really humble on his streams where he can be himself.

but unless they are just dominating you, you can learn a lot still.

Just chill. You don't need to hit immortal in school.

TBH the experience gets better as you grow older.

If you get to high school, it gets better, when you get to university, it is even better.

I barely had anyone who played CSGO in my high school. We have 40+ people playing valorant in my university.

For now, just try to grind.

BTW I quite relate to "They duo q for about 2 months". This has happened a lot with me, but sooner or later, you will be able to escape silver/bronze.

Also the term "third world" does not have anything to do with safety or economy.

It just refers to the fact that certain countries did not participate in a certain war and those countries were called "third world".

A lot of third-world countries are prosperous and developing.

Still, some uneducated "first world" kids think that this is some sort of insult.

posted about 2 years ago

LMAO

but tbh, I hear a lot about people complaining about safety.

But in reality, you rarely hear about any crime taking place. For example, there has not been any robbery/murder in a 5km radius. I have heard about a couple of thefts but no murders/assault cases from family/friends and that includes 1000+ people.

This has to be pretty safe compared to let's say South America or South Africa where crime happens in broad daylight.

Played for an entire year, only ever experienced one blatant cheater.

A sage took a guardian on bind and killed 5 people through the tp door with 1 tap headshots.

Pretty much the entire game summarized.

I must have met many other cheaters using wallhacks but they were not unbeatable. I could have beat them if only I played better/ my shots connected.

In general cheaters in Valorant are pretty much nonexistent. There are too many smurfs in silver-gold though.

You can definitely solo Queue as long as you don't get tilted/angry at the game.

My experience so far - Opened silver, took ages to go to Gold, then climbed quickly from Gold to high plat, stayed there a while, then reached Diamond.

You can easily get to silver 3 by solo queue if you get good. Grind the game as much as you can. Don't mind throwers/people not having a good day. That is just part of the game. Get to silver 2-3. Honestly, you will be able to as it's not a huge difference in ranks. Once you are in silver 2-3, you can actually play with friends.

Also, I do not know about NA (judging from your flag) but if you play 20 games in Asia, you should be able to find decent people to play with if you just send friend requests to them. This list grows slowly. Should be the same for every part of the world.

It is true though that getting out of silver is very tough. You should queue with friends to get out of gold.

I definitely believe that your "high elo" friends only recommended you this assuming you had friends to play with you.

In Short - Don't be afraid of playing solo queue if you are not concerned about gaining elo. It's ok to be playing alone in your squad in Bronze as people are not very synchronized anyways. Solo plays can win you rounds at least till silver 3. You will learn teamwork along the way.

Taking advice is good, but advice that prevents you from playing the game in the first place should not be taken.

I will try to frame my answer from the perspective of a foreign tourist visiting India to take the best out of this trip and avoid any problems on the way.

Honestly, if you come to India, I would recommend just go to one of these beach destinations like Kerala and Goa. The ideal visiting time is around winter where there is not much humidity and the temps are really good.

Both these spots are really tourist-friendly with people whom you can communicate easily (Obvio they talk english but you can also find people speaking french, spanish, portugese etc to help you out)

The food in both these parts is great, you can also find Beef dishes in Kerala which tbh, you cannot find in the majority of India and many foreigners really crave this meat when coming to India, just so that you know.

The Christmas party in Goa is very famous and hundreds of thousands of tourists visit Goa during that time of the year. It is a very unique experience to celebrate Christmas in 30 degrees Celcius for many Europeans and North Americans.

This is the easiest and effortless route you can take to enjoy and not get yourself tired. Ideal for a vacation.

If you are more into India's culture then ohh boy, prepare to do some trekking and traveling.

I suggest you land in New Delhi rather than Mumbai, go explore Old Delhi. Some posts above have mentioned some popular spots, Chandni Chowk, Qutub Minar, Red Fort and other places which I am sure the place where you stay (your hotel) will be more than happy to help you out with.

Then proceed towards Agra and visit the Taj Mahal and other places near it including Fatehpur Sikri.

This is usually enough for a normal person visiting India for the first time. After this, you can proceed to either Goa or Kerala. Goa is strictly for enjoyment (atleast as a tourist) while Kerala has both culture and good beaches. You can decide likewise.

Some things to note out for in India -

India gets very hot and humid, make sure to drink lots of water and only packaged water or water that you are used to drinking for at least 7-8 days on your arrival. Indians get sick when they go abroad and others when they come to India cause of the different microbiology in different areas.

As much as India gets hot, it also gets cold. Make sure to bring winterwear if you are ever visiting anything that is in the northern half of India during the winter season (November - February). If you arrive (and leave) from Goa or Kerala, you won't need winterwear as they are mostly warm during the winters.

Always make sure you do things that tourists normally do and visit places where tourists normally visit. If at any point you feel like you do not see "white faces" for a while, make sure to return to a place with more tourists or your hotel.

India is safer than it is portrayed but still, it is advised to be at guard regardless.

Shopkeepers like to engage you to buy something and it can get quite hectic. Find a way to deal with them.

Keep talking to your driver/hotel managers/waiters at restaurants, they can let our some unique places to visit and some good food on the menu.

PS - I did not write this whole thing down. Parts of it are copied from a convo I had with someone else visiting India a while ago.

I am not personally saying they are bad.

I am just rephrasing what Benkai said and what the community as a whole expects.

You can, and the ping is decent as well. I live in Jodhpur so the physical location is close to Pakistan.

I get 70+ms in Singapore and 67-70ms in Bahrain.

All you need to do is create an account from an EMEA country.

I asked a friend from Pakistan with who I played CSGO to do so.

True, winning one game can be called a fluke but getting to the finals? Not really.

By overperformed I meant the fact that NTH was literally not the team we were expecting to do well.

Benkai has said that they knife teams from JP in scrims (slight point towards how bad JP is), but Nth, a low seed team from JP actually beat PRX 2-0 to shut them up.

Diamond 2 here. I think plats are not very good and immortal 1 is pretty similar to diamond 1. But as soon as you go up against Immo3 and similar ranks, you feel the difference. Immo3's just destroy you if you are in diamond or similar ranks. While my silver friends on good days and beat plat players. Diamond is kind of like a middle ground where you won't get beat by a silver anytime but you will also get destroyed by immo3.

Also, radiants are, well,

wayyyyy above immo3.

Especially if you go up against the top 100s.
Got one on my team when an act starts and I was winning some games. So I matched with him. The game was just ridiculous. Man is carrying us with Sova.

posted about 2 years ago

I think Northception overperformed.

We should not expect Zeta Div to do the same as Nth was pretty much the only JP team that did not get out of the tournament in the first 2 games.

posted about 2 years ago

In local tournaments, in the APAC I felt everyone stepped up.

Just compare this to local tournaments within India where the entire team sits at 6 kills while Rossi is fragging out at 20 kills or something.

But at least when they scrim against SEA they all step up. Same for LCQ and VCC playoffs.

posted about 2 years ago

This introduces another problem and that is genuine players who are playing for the first time may not be at the skill level of a iron player.

EG - my friend who plays CSGO opened silver 1 in valorant only on the basis of aim and almost no utility awareness. He did not even know what a yoru TP is or common cypher trip setups.

When he goes against teams in ranked where people are not good with util, he top frags, while if you get those annoying util users, he barely manages to get 10 kills or any impact in the game.

If let's say, he was boosted quickly to gold or plat, he would just ruin so many games while valorant manages to derank him to the current level.

Even right now, his skills are very disproportionate where his aim is like platinum, game sense is like silver gold (owing to the fact that there are still some similarities in maps of CSGO and valorant) but util awareness is like a low bronze. He does not even know that a Jett can dash at you if you hold certain angles and the same with raze satchels.

Sure bro, just rides a bandwagon. Sentinels definitely got overconfident and lost games but they made out of the group stage in an international event like Berlin and won Iceland. That definitely puts them in the top 8 teams in the world. If you think that even 8 teams in the world are not decent then I don't know what to tell you.

Also despite the fact that I appreciate Paper Rex and other Singapore teams, by your logic, even Paper Rex is just trash and highly dependent on Forsaken to frag and Jingg to go aggro.

I don't see any team in the world which you can't point something against.

posted about 2 years ago

At this point, more than half of them are fake flaggers or acting as Indians in chat.

I believe a lot of them already stopped when Indian players and org managers themselves asked them to not spam their names.

They are children and don't know any better. When they were told not to do so they stopped.

If anyone is still continuing, it's just trolls. Then why are you judging a team based on the fake hype up by trolls?

If GE lost all games it would still have made sense. Did Rossi putting up decent numbers against a region like Korea really not do anything for his reputation?

posted about 2 years ago

This same team made it to Berlin and took a map off split (Sentinel's good map) despite the fact sentinels had a flawless run all through iceland.

posted about 2 years ago

All SEA teams comm in English IG.

Paper Rex has released a Berlin voice comms video if you want to see those.

Its not just every country having different languages. I think even in 1 country people speak multiple languages.

India (not in SEA but still has similar culture) for example speaks several dozen languages but English is common to all.

When I was in silver3-gold2 about 8 months ago, I played a tournament against Diamond players.

We were down 5-0 then 7-0 and then I got a 3K using classic right click on an eco and won the round.

From then I guess they got tilted bad and we kinda snowballed them despite the clear skill diff.

Classic right click has to be the best mechanic in game. This prevents people going too crazy for eco frags or pushing an OP just cause you know it does not work on close range.

Remember, if the guy in front has the skill, he can still one shot you and get you down.

In my opinion, they should just make the Valorant server software available to everyone. Its so hard to conduct 3rd party tournaments online.
