CIS can still technically make it to masters and champions. Its just through EMEA right? That is a potential 4 slots.

There is just no way SA teams could go to masters, Iceland or Berlin. GE could be the best team in the world and still not be able to qualify for international tournaments.

The only chance SA gets to qualify for masters in the Asia LCQ. Asia's last chance qualifier is SA's first and last chance to qualify.

Though I think only 1 slot to SA is enough. They are yet to prove themselves despite showing some promise.
Korea or some similar region deserves more slots.

But China getting 2 slots is just outrageous considering their current gameplay. I mean yes its pro gameplay and could pass off as Radiant gameplay. However that is just not comparable to how Korea or SEA plays. Maybe even Japan might be better.

Maybe next year.

But I am sure Riot will suck up to China and give them slots before even coming back to SA.

If they go with the 24 teams tournament from next year, I am pretty sure they will distribute the new slots to Brazil Korea JP, and China before even considering India or South Asia as a whole.

KappA maybe but skillz is maybe one of their most important players. His impact is not visible from frags but from support.

I would also like to point out that GE plays a lot like TSM where every team member is there to set up Wardell. In GE they set up SKRossi so that his operator cannot be moved by util. They break recons, drones, wolfs or put counter util to everything the other team puts at them.

In such kind of format you really dont need to frag a lot as a sova or as a controller/sentinel that skillz plays.

Too low.

GE used to beat SEA teams as early as Dec prev year.
At that point in time, India was participating in SEA tournaments as VCT had not been announced yet.

If you look at the records they have beaten every SEA team they were matched against except Bren and X10. This was also when Bren and X10 were playing for a couple of months as a team and GE was just a new bought-together roster. That would easily put GE in the top 3-4 slot in SEA.
Also, we have to consider that the GE right now is just so much better.

Also, Japan is not very good IMO. They get a slot and viewership but that's pretty much it. Japan is not comparable to SEA.

The real challenge in Korea. They are pretty good and most probably Nuturn will be in the tournament. I would give GE a less than 5% chance of making it through Nuturn (5% because if GE players step up and Nuturn is playing badly, something might be possible, being extremely optimistic).
Expected rank 4, best possible rank 2, and at worst, they may end up at 6 or 7 or something.

People may disagree but I am just looking at past stats and not accounting for how much GE has improved faster than their competition.

There is just so much irony in this post.

I think kinda the opposite. Let China KR JP stay independent, however, split up the EMEA region.

African players are frequently complaining about ping cause there are no servers in their countries (or even nearby countries).

Turkish and other minor regions are good enough if LATAM gets its own slot, they can get it too.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I know for a fact that China has not yet released Valorant officially yet Riot is still in talks about getting the game released.

However, they have 2 slots for APAC LCQ giving them the same amount of priority as the Korea and Japan regions and more important than the SA region.

Anybody who can share how really is the scene in China? Some teams that are really good? Any players to watch out for? Can I watch their matches as a non-native, if so where can I do so?

How do you compare China to other Regions in LCQ that are KR, JP, SEA, and SA?

PS - please don't tell me those old stories about how China dominates other games or something similar. We have seen enough instances that history in CSGO really does not matter in the Valo scene.
1) NA arguably has more teams at the top than EU. While EU was and is still dominant in CS.
2) Korea was almost non-existent in CSGO and from there they are the third-best region without doubt and arguably as good as the EMEA region.
3) CSGO outcasts can dominate in Valorant.
4) South Asia had a dead CSGO scene and from that state, there are 4 threads posted on this site every day about the region (Be it for the good or bad).

Can we have comparisons that can be made by analyzing their strats, aim, executes etc, and not their past.

LMAO. I love when people have 0 context.

Because SEA has way more competition in the sense that a rank 5 team could beat a rank 3 team. Apart from Vision Strikers which are probably really good, and apart from that, there is only Nuturn which stands out. F4Q is good as well but that's about it. After that, all the teams are pretty average. If rank 3 and rank 4 Korean teams make it to Masters/Champions, the skill level of the tournament will just fall down.

Regarding brazil though, I don't really think they should get 3 slots. Maybe if they merge with Latin America then yes. 2 Slots is more than enough for a single country that was not able to do that well in the masters anyways. Even if they got good after their masters, they are not the only ones. Every region developed drastically.

Valorant was released in India along with the entire world and there were major Esports orgs and players shifting from CSGO to Valorant.

I wouldn't say the scene in India is any smaller than in Latin America or Japan. Almost the same skill level viewership is higher than LAM though.

Despite this Riot just did not introduce VCT in India. When questions were raised about why does India not even have an opportunity to play at Iceland, they announced the VCC tournament. This gives 7 South Asian countries a chance to fight it out and get 1 slot in APAC LCQ.

VCC itself is an international tournament though you may argue that it is within a region. Even if Indian teams were really good they just did not get an opportunity. Now that they got one they will represent in the APAC LCQ and play in a truly international tournament.

What hurts though is the fact that only one team gets a chance for LCQ. Both the teams in the finals were pretty good and would have done well in the future. Unfortunately, only one team gets the chance while China who are also yet to prove anything internationally and the game is not out there (yet) gets 2 slots. Sucks but that is how it is.

I don't think Indians know how to use a mouse and a keyboard. Do they know how to use the internet?

Rossi just learnt how to hold a mouse and he dominates the Indian region bro.

TBH FR though how do you really counter a player who does not fall back even when tagged by a drone, flashed and being close range with 3 players nearby.

I just think you have not seen him enough to speak. Just watching the last finals does not speak much.

That being said, all I am saying is that he is good. Your traditional methods of removing an Operator does not work on him. That does not make him a better player than TenZ or CneD. Just a player to watch out for since he has finally got a chance to go international now.

Not crazy at all. Small countries in Asia have 200M population while USA has 350M and Canada is just too small too count.

You also got China and India. Not sure if you counted China in Asia though.

Not really TBH. The OG Korean Jett Seoldam is only a very flashy player. He gets those clip-like moments a few times and its not as if he does that every time he pops his ult.

I watched Northception games only to my utmost disappointment. Even though Indian teams have yet to beat SEA rank 1 and rank 2 teams. GE can beat Northception easily. No Cap.

Well it does matter a bit. Not that much compared to other games though.

Its not banned, it just never released. I don't know how you can officially give slots to a country who have to use a VPN to play the game.

posted about 3 years ago

That was before Riot did this. Earlier APAC LCQ had 8 teams with 2 from SEA 2 KR 2 JP 1 VCC and 1 unannounced. This reserved slot was for China.

Now they not only gave 2 slots to China but they increased the bracket to 10 teams and instead of giving a chance to Indian teams they gave a 3rd slot to SEA.

Indian Teams like Global have already beat big teams in SEA except for X10 and Bren. They are definitely top 3 material in SEA. No doubt they can beat Japan as well. Against Korea however, well not too sure.

Talking about viewership, Brazil gets 2 spots "due to viewership". I remember some Riot rep mentioning it once.
On the other hand, they wont give South Asia even a single slot despite good viewership.

posted about 3 years ago

TBH, Brazil being a single country (and with a smaller population than other countries I am going to give examples of) gets 2 slots. However, that's not it. Latin America gets another slot.
That totals 3 slots in total for South America.
Now talking about champions, BR gets 2 spots Latin America takes 1 slot along with a South America last chance qualifier. Like seriously? 4 teams out of 16 from this region?
Vikings were probably the only decent team from the region. YNG sharks had good players like gaabxx still as a team they had nothing unique.
I have no idea what KRU was doing as well. Not that they are a bad team but, internationally they have way more ground to cover.

If someone still thinks South America deserves its 3-4 slots, let me inform you about South Asia and Oceania regions. There is no VCT in South Asia. To compete in VCT they need to play international tournaments to get 1 slot in VCT. That's right these guys have to compete just for a vast pool of talent to get 1 slot to play in VCT.
There was no slot for Iceland, there is no slot for Berlin. No matter how good you are. They did not lose, they were not even given a chance.
To get to champions they will have to beat the giants of SEA, KR and JP regions.

Oceania has a similar story and they don't get slots, not even one.
