I’m surprised I’m defending him. But I don’t think he meant Guild is a bad team, just that FPX choke at times when they seem like they should be the favourite going into the match, often when it matters most. Maybe I am wrong though and he does believe Guild to be a bad team.

Today, in the match FaZe vs MeowMeow, Corey scored an ACS of 521 on map two, going 31/4/2 in 15 rounds.

Which got me thinking, does anyone know what the official record for ACS in a official VCT map is? Obviously I know ACS isn’t the best way to look at a players game impact when only factoring in their ACS, more wondering just for curiosity sake.

Think this matchup has the potential to be a banger. Luminosity on paper is the better team and should win. But Complexity is currently playing the best Valorant they ever have and are on a bit of a tear ripping through the Tier 2 teams.

I’m going 2-1 Luminosity. But I feel an upset might be on the cards.

Truthfully IMO, until EG are ready to make big moves, they might as well keep Potter. The entire team with the exception of maybe Temperature are simply not good enough to build success from. It’s harsh to say when they just added three players, but unless they suddenly play completely different from what they showed, even with someone replacing potter they’ll still be a team most likely outside the Top 20 in NA.

Branted going 2/17 with Phoenix and Roca 5/15 on Reyna isn’t because of Potter. These are duelists, they don’t need an IGL to tell them to click on heads.

If I was EG, I stick with the current team while scouting talent, after Last Chance Qualifiers for Champions there’s gonna be a lot of big names from teams that missed out making it to Champions and are looking to make changes. And I make my big rebuild move then, hoping to find a top player to build the team around, bringing in some young blood from scouting with some veterans to round out the roster, and put Potter in a Coaching roll which I really think she will do well in, she is smart and knows the game.

That has to be one of the highest ever in an official VCT match right?

You’ll notice that’s why I said that him staying is most likely better for the scene. Read boi.

Who do you think would be the team to try it though? Only team in Tier 1 I could maybe see is Envy. Which would maybe explain why Marved is only loaned to Envy for the time being. Could also be that EnVy wants to see who becomes available before or after Last Chance qualifiers.

But hey, I would love to see him in NA. But there’s another part of me that wants him to stay in KR and strengthen up that region. I want Valorant to be more than just EU vs NA with a dash of CIS and BR. KR is a region with real potential to become a threat in the future to win big events. And players like Lakia are part of that. I think the potential for Valorant to truly be a world esport is something very exciting.

Sad to hear. Wish him the best.

Yeah same. My dad works at Lakia, was shocked when I heard.

One player isn’t fixing this team, they are in need of a complete redo. There entire team just isn’t good enough to be top 20.

Potter didn’t cause Branted to go 2/17 on a Phoenix or Roca to go 5/15 on a Reyna.

If EG want to be a top team to fight for slots in a master spot. No one on the team has showed they are the building block to be used to take this team to tier 1 competition.

Like I get it, Sinatraa has baggage. But if EG wants to compete, he is a player that could be a building block. Especially as around the time he is allowed to return, there’s gonna be a lot of names on the market from teams wanting to make moves after failing to qualify in the Last Chance Qualifiers for Champions.

Sinatraa will get picked up by a team if nothing else comes up in the investigation. He is too good and the world forgets too quickly for him to fall out of the scene completely unwillingly.

posted about 2 years ago

Me picking Sinatraa was just meant to be an example of a move EG needs to do to be taken seriously in Valorant. You’re definitely correct in the baggage that comes with Sinatraa. Though if nothing else comes out, when he comes back and he’s confirmed to have taken all those programs Riot wants him to take, I think he will be picked up by a Tier 1-2 team fairly quick (like under 6 months from the time SEN announces he’s free to seek other offers) We have people like a Chris Brown in the world who are genuinely pieces of trash, but brands come running to do business, not just allegations like Sinatraa. The world forgets quickly, especially if you are talented.

I agree with your choice of DaZed. There’s almost certainly gonna be a lot of big names after Last chance Qualifiers to build a very solid Org around.

posted about 2 years ago

I think she could do well as a coach. The team has problems outside of just Potter, she is just their scapegoat. The entire team is just not that good. Even if they get rid of Potter, they’re not gonna become a team even battling to get into the top 20. It might sound harsh, and yeah it probably is a bit considering how new the roster is. But until they build the roster up from the ground up, they’re not going get much better, with or without Potter. Until then Potter will take the heat.

If EG want to be taken seriously. Do something ballsy like go after Sinatraa when he is able to play again, and build a team around him.

One of the best matches I have ever seen. Watch the VOD if you can, it’s so far my MOTY for year 2 of Valorant. And it’s gonna take a lot to beat it. Really the only this its missing is being at a LAN event. I could only imagine the crowd watching this game live if it were possible.

What do you expect to get in a gaming forum? Commenting about politics in Valorant forum is just stupid, even if one team has players from Israel.

Go post on Reddit if you want to talk about politics and pretend like commenting #FreePalastine does any useful except leave yourself open to bait. Most people here don’t even know the history of the region. And if they do, are trying to relax and forget about some of the worlds problems for a bit.

posted about 2 years ago

While I understand there are major issues with it. It’s not like it’s completely useless. And there’s a big enough differences between those two ranks to show which team should be favoured. The issue is that the OG roster is not the same team that was ranked 43.

Oh Sennheiser makes great stuff I totally agree, it’s what I’m running currently. I just think if your able, your audio experience mainly in your microphone will greatly improve if you can have a standalone setup on average.

Now I must confess I don’t know how good or bad the microphone in the headset you linked is. Just strictly speaking with gaming headsets, the microphone is usually ok at best, and horrible at worst. The one you linked might be great though, I’ve never used it so I cannot comment on it. Sennheiser makes great products, so it should at least be solid from my experience with their products.

Sennheiser thankfully is usually fair with their prices, so you don’t pay much if any gamer tax like many other brands.

I must admit I am pretty picky with my audio setup. So while 95% of people a product may be satisfactory. I just really like having a quality microphone. Depends on the person really.

posted about 2 years ago

Personally, I have had the best luck buying good headphones that aren’t attached to gaming as you usually end up paying more money because they’re marketed as gaming headphones.

Get yourself a solid standalone mic if you can afford it, then just any headphones that have good reviews in your price range will give you a better mic and audio setup than a gaming headset.

Potter seems like a nice person, so I don’t want her to get hate, but she really is a weak link in the team. Even if her playbook and IGLing are some of the best out there, she needs to perform better in actual fragging for the team to go anywhere.

If EG are keeping her for representation reasons. Let her take up a coaching role. She might legit be able to shine in that role and do a lot of good for the whole representation goal the team seems to have. Listening to her in the casting role she does know what she’s talking about. EG have to put Potter and the team in a position to succeed. There’s a lot of great minds in sports that would be horrible on the field, but are great coaches.

I do truly hope for a time in the future where all female leagues are a thing of the past, and it’s just normal for teams to be made of both males and females. But this team sadly isn’t it and arguably doing more harm than good.

Yup they do happen. Just keep a look out and I’m sure they will be announced like they were for Iceland and GameChangers.

Edit: forgot to say they are usually posted in the stickied threads for easy access.

posted about 2 years ago

Don’t know about that. There was a lot of reports in Iceland that the Vandal felt really good on LAN where a lot of players had to rethink what gun they’re gonna use. And now that Breeze is in the map pool, I don’t think on LAN it’s cut and dry that Phantom is better. With Breeze on the table I expect more Vandal use than Iceland. Personally I don’t think it’s cut and dry that the phantom is better. I just think that it’s better in more situations.

I am by no means “good” at Valorant (only Plat, hoping to get diamond this episode). But I had the best luck between phantom and vandal depending on what I am planing on doing in the round. If I’m playing aggressive I go Phantom, if I’m playing slow and looking for picks I go Vandal. If I’m paying mid on Accent I usually go Vandal. If I’m covering B main I’m going Phantom.

Either way, the pros are pros for a reason, even the worst pro in the scene will know what gun suits them best.

They do this for all new agents. One reason is learning to counter-play an agent can take time, and usually always happens slower than learning some alright strats with the agent. Another is any major bugs that show up after release. Any balance changes the agent might need. While Riot usually waits to see how the agent will do in competitive before they swing the nerf or buff hammer. But one change I can remember is to Kill Joy's nanoswams, on launch they activated almost instantly, giving zero time to get out were just OP. So Riot changed that really quick ones it became apparent.

This will also happen with maps and why Breeze didn't get play time till weeks after its release.

Great to see. India is a market that if Valorant takes off is huge for the game. Success there is good for everyone, even those outside India.

I’m interested to see how cypher does after the changes. Jett not being able to dash through his trips is a big gain. If there’s a Kay/O on the other team will it make Cypher unuseable.

Also will be interesting to see Yoru once his rework is done. Riot basically said the reason there wasn’t any buffs for him this patch is between they’re working on new parts to his kit that isn’t just changing numbers but needs new animations and sounds, etc.

I think Sage is still a very very good agent and will be used often. And I could see Breach used more often with his rework as his E is so much improved and his Ult is insane.

Interested how DAMWON GAMING will do this time. They don’t get talked about as much, but I think they can grow enough to fight for Masters slots.

For me personally

  1. Icebox
  2. Breeze
  3. Split
  4. Accent
  5. Haven
  6. Bind

Don't truly hate any maps, but there are definitely some I like playing on more than others. I like Breeze and Icebox just cause they play and look a lot differently compared to everything else. Bind is at my bottom just because it's the map I have the most troubles with. I can play Bind comfortably with KillJoy. But if I want to try anything else, especially on attack, it just feels like I can't get into a good rhythm, mostly attacking B site.

I could understand if someone loves Bind and I could see why someone hates IceBox or Breeze (Especially Breeze, it plays so much differently compared to anything else in the game.)Definitely think the map will have a love hate relationship with the community forever.

Personally, don't think Valorant has the exact equivalent of a CS Major. I personally view Masters a little lower tier than a normal CS Major. But I view Champions personally higher than a normal CS Major. Champions is the result of everything in the last year, given the title of world champion for that year. While I understand people trying to find similarities between between the two scenes, as it currently stands how Masters and Champions are put together I don't think this is an area we can find an exact answer.

Considering where they were, they did well last Challengers taking out FaZe and playing SEN to a close 3 maps. With the changes announced today I think it's too early. But it wouldn't surprise me once things get settled they become a threat and be Top 5 in NA. Their weakness wasn't talent at least from the outside looking in. It just seemed like they couldn't get on the same page of what direction to take the team. And the announcement today only strengthens that idea. Would not surprise me if they do well this challengers, or even surprise people with Last Chance qualifiers.

Could be a routing issue with your ISP. I had a similar issue around two months ago, where everyone in western Canada with a certain ISP got routed differently because of a storm, and for about two weeks my ping was in the 70's cause instead of playing in the western NA servers, I got routed to Chicago.

If this is the same issue you have. Sadly all you can do it wait. The issue isn't on Riot end.

posted about 2 years ago

They talked about a Yoru rework in the works. Sadly it's gonna take longer than most buffs as he needs new animations and audio, etc. But they are already testing the new Yoru and said they have had good feedback said its been a lot of fun. So it's coming, just might take a bit. But Riot is completely aware that he needs some help.

I love Yoru, I even have a lot of fun in his current state, so I’m excited what they decide to do for his rework.

Ah ok that makes sense. Was just basing this off of Iceland when I saw Zellsis play KJ a couple times.

posted about 2 years ago

Small little edit might be needed. They are playing on patch 3.0, not 2.11.

posted about 2 years ago

Am I wrong I thinking Zellsis was/is their KJ player? Believe he played her on Split and Accent.

posted about 2 years ago

They might bump up the amount of matches a day. If CS can have more than 3, don’t think there’s no reason we can’t. They already had multiple broadcasters teams in Iceland. I agree though, who knows.

Personally for me, whether we have groups or not, I would prefer if it’s 16 teams Bo3 double elimination with BO5 final. The question would be how to seed them. My guess is they seed them base of how they qualified similar to Iceland.

KAY/O Ult IMO is average. While people compare him to Phoenix, I don't think it's that simple. I would put Phoenix Ult over KAY/O, at least for now. Phoenix instantly gets "revived" back to 100hp no matter if he had 1 HP before he Ulted, and can go right back into the site now with teammates to kill the players he scouted. While KAY/O does get a stim and stop people from abilities, he can't get right back into the fight like Phoenix when he charges into a site scouting and trying to entry.

KAY/O is good, but he does not play entry as good as Phoenix and IMO he is better suited for the secondary force after Phoenix entry's so his teammates can capitalize on suppressed enemies and can pick him up if he goes down.

What makes KAY/O good is his EMP Dagger, not his ult IMO. If a nerfs does come to KAY/O it will be to his dagger. IMO things like not pulling characters like Raze, Sova, and Jett out of their ult if they already had it active before the suppression is a fair nerf.

So far while I think KAY/O is good and should find himself on many teams meta. He isn't broken, but I could see some smaller nerfs headed his way like the one I listed above (keep in mind this is after 2 days, community still needs to learn to fight him. I got into a whole lobby that didn't know you can shoot his dagger before it goes off like Sova's arrow)

I big disagree about Sova's ult being one of the worst. His ult is widely regarded as one of the best. He can counter Killyjoy's ult, he can play post plant meta and stop defuses, and he can just straight up take out people he tags with owl drones or arrows. The only way I would think his Ult is bad is if you are just blindly firing his ult hoping to hit something.

I think Astra is at the top, but it’s much closer now. Where I could see if a player just prefers playing Omen its an ok choice. Plus with Omens kit being slightly cheaper it helps a little in the economy matchup. I think Viper might get countered a bit by KAY/O, but time will tell. At the least she will get countered by KAY/O more than the other agents. As he can force her walls and smoke down for 6-7 seconds. Where as Astra, Omen, Brim have already smoked, the stuff isn’t going to disappear. This kind of stuff will take a few weeks at the earliest to see, as KAYO isn’t even gonna be allowed to compete in competitive Valorant for at least 2 weeks, maybe more if Riot feels it’s better to give more time. Like with all new agents when just released.
