Def not a new player this early, at least play out till after Last Chance qualifiers when a lot of teams are making moves, you have Sinatraa coming back, etc. Just practice as stupid as that sounds. I don't mean like signing up for smaller tournaments (though that doesn't hurt). I mean like finding out what version of the current roster works best with what agents, then make strats off that.

I would imagine C9 knows more about what they need to do than we do, but that's just my opinion. Also when I say Sinatraa coming back I don't mean C9 should pick him (though if you can handle his baggage I think he would help literally any team in NA, even as a 6th rotation player on SEN) I just mean that a big name might show up because teams are making moves for big names like Sinatraa after Last Chance Qualifiers. As the teams are set for Champions at that time. Hey C9B might be in Champions, this is just assuming they don't make it.

Sick is one, just seems like a chill dude that doesn't take himself too seriously. Enjoy that about TenZ too.

Patiphan stole my heart in Iceland and since then have tried to keep up with his streams. Likes to entertain, and kid is cracked at a young age.

Boaster is fun to watch on stream as he always makes time to try and educate his watchers. Even when watching his vod reviews of the grand finals in Iceland. He made no excuses, took the loss like a champ and trying to give tips to his viewers tips on what they did wrong, etc.

Know nothing about Dapr's personality, but if you manage to watch a game of SEN when they are well out in front and just feeling themselves. He is super entertaining to watch as he's going for those knife kills and just having a good time out there.

Looks like good match making to me, 15-13 score line, no player falling super behind or super ahead. It's a new episode, you are going to have ranks super bunched up for a bit.

I mean you are correct. But thankfully it means nothing. And if they are getting improvement from it that's all that matters.

I am not sure tbh. I am actually happy to see it used in proplay, it actually has a use. So if they do nerf it i don't want to see if just disappear. $3600 is a lot of cash to lose if you are not getting success with it. For me personally, I think the Odin is in a fine spot. It's getting use, but you don't see it outside of specific spots.

It would not surprise me if KAY/O nerfs the Odin simply by his inclusion into proplay. Taking out the spotting abilities of Sova, etc so it's harder to spray through a wall will nerf the Odin. So before they go nerfing the Odin, I would wait to see what KAY/O does to the meta. And outside of Accent it's kind of pointless. If they do nerf, I would say to nerf the movement so that if you catch a Odin player outside of their safe spaces they are basically dead.

Riot will introduce a fan vote for TSM

Edit: actually knowing TSM, they would lose the fan vote to Brimstone Gaming or some shit.

C9B, T1, Soniqs, and a hopeful pick of FaZe even though I was not impressed at all from there Challengers 1 attempt.

Happy for the Kansas City bois. Getting dropped from eUnited to now go on this huge run. Has to bring the sprits up of the new org.

Yes they can still make Berlin. They go through Challengers 2, which is similar to Challengers 1 except for that Challengers 2 only takes 4 teams instead of 8.

The 8 teams that just qualified today listed above are gonna play in an 8 team double elimination bracket. The top 4 teams of this bracket move on to the challengers playoffs. The bottom 4 teams that did not move on, will play the 4 teams that qualified through Challengers 2 (this is where C9B can be) to form a new 8 team bracket. Then the top 4 teams of this new 8 team bracket will play to qualify for challengers playoffs to join the previous 4 teams that already qualified.

Then with this new 8 team bracket in called Challengers Playoffs. The top 3 teams go to Berlin to represent NA.

Basically qualifying through Challengers 1 gets you two shots to qualify for Challengers Playoffs, where qualifying through Challengers 2 you get one shot to qualify for Challengers Playoffs. I believe the teams that qualify through Challengers 1 also get better seeding.

Wonder what Riot plans to change with IceBox now that they announced they are working on changes. Something similar to how they changed Split maybe.

I really like Icebox, but parts I would like to see changed are slight changes to B site. So Sage is still and option for teams, but make it so if you don’t bring a Sage you aren’t just at a massive disadvantage trying to plant B.

Another thing which I doubt will happen. Is forcing teams starting out to have to going down the ramp, especially on attacking side. Can really suck sometimes when a player is just sitting all the way at the back of spawn with an Op so they’re hard to see, and kill you the instant you peak. Just can be really hard to scan that much area with your eyes when a enemies just sitting there waiting for you to either come from A mid or B. It isn’t not a huge issue, but something I would be happy to see changed.

As the last thing it’s really just B long. I don’t think it’s bad. I just think it can be better. Like how you can jump on top of the shipping containers. Maybe make it to attacks can go right on top of green box at the beginning if they choice. Who’s knows, I don’t know how this would all play out. I think A site for the most part is OK after the changes they made to the map after launch. The changes they did to Split were really well done and turned it into a fun map for me. And it was a pretty extensive rework, basically everywhere but Mailroom on the map had some kind of change.

I believe C9B will win, but Rise is no walk in the park. The Tier 2 teams have shown simply by the upsets and close games they are no easy win and are ready to try and make the jump to Tier 1.

My guess is a 2-1 C9B victory. But Rise is playing well at the right time, and an upset might be in the cards.

Oh I understand. Sorry if I came across like I was trying to attack you. Wasn’t my intention.

They’re tier 1 for sure IMO. Not to say they are some powerhouse in NA. But they are fighting for Masters slots regularly, IMO if you are doing that you are Tier 1. Until they stop doing that, then IMO it’s time to start the conversation of not being tier 1.

They might be underachieving, or not beating teams easily. But they are still beating tier 2 teams and fighting for Masters slots. That’s tier 1 IMO.

It’s also not like Noble are a bunch of scrubs. I think this should just be a wake up call to teams and fans that the tier 2 scene is not some far group of teams away from Tier 1. But can and will go on runs and play spoiler to tier 1 teams regularly.

This is a win for NA as a whole. As it shows the scene is not as top heavy as many believe.

Could be why is had the best ACS in the server for the 3 maps. He had 15 first bloods, the next closest was 7. Might has started slow, but was a monster when it mattered.

Still pulled the highest ACS in the server for the game. Wish my off days were like him.

TenZ has an off day and he still pulls the highest ACS in the server counting all three maps. Try harder.

posted about 2 years ago

As someone who wants Soniqs to do well. It’s still hard for me to classify them as Tier 1 when their best feet is taking a map of SEN, a team that is known to start slow as times. But in saying that, if Soniqs do well in challengers 2 and qualify for the playoffs, then do well there. Sure I will consider them Tier 1. But Tier 1 for me they need to constantly be a threat for taking a Master slot and taking those Masters slots occasionally. And right now, Soniqs has not showed that yet. I will say I think there is true improvement, which is all any fan can hope for. IMO they are a strong Tier 2 team,

posted about 2 years ago

I think Brax helps, but T1 had a strong showing in Challengers for Master 2. With taking out FaZe (Who at the time had only lost against SEN and V1 going on their Iceland streak). Then they also took SEN to a close 3 maps. So I think it’s just general improvement with the team. Talent has always been there, maybe now with the team not butting heads on which direction to go it’s finally going to be able to show results you’d expect.

Why you change from your C9 flair?

posted about 2 years ago

I gave my reasons if you choice to ignore them and focus on the last part of what I wrote, that’s up to you.

Edit. Like I’m not denying that it’s unfortunate it happened. But I think the reasons it happened while also trying to grow a business during these times makes it hard/impossible where you get a perfect system. As I said, this year is a trial period where we try and make the most of things in a period where it’s next to impossible to make things perfect.

Thankfully next year these problems shouldn’t exist, and having the experience that Riot has now will pay off when not having to deal with the effects of a pandemic and not having to put your stars in quarantine before they can even play. I would be curious if the talent themselves feel like we should have just not have Iceland.

posted about 2 years ago

Good job missing the point.

posted about 2 years ago

Oh come on, everyone wanted a LAN after almost two years without LAN and we got one. Again it’s a trial year and it’s a business. Riot knows more about this than you. I am sorry your team got the short end of the stick during a pandemic. But the pandemic effected pretty much everything. Deal with it, and hopefully next year we can have a VCT that can run as planned for the entire year.

posted about 2 years ago

There was and still is a legit pandemic going on. It’s pretty well understood this is just a trial year because of the circumstances. Riot would have obviously wanted all masters including even the first masters to be 16 teams at LAN, sadly because of the pandemic it wasn’t possible.

If this is happening next year you have a point, but we were lucky to even get a LAN in Iceland to begin with. Yeah unfortunately we had some compromises. But that’s life in a pandemic, and I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have the system we got than nothing at all because Riot couldn’t bring 16 teams to Iceland. And in regards to only doing 10 teams for all Masters, for one, everyone hated the 10 team format, second like I said it’s a trial run so Riot can learn for the future what is needed to run 16 teams of their new game. Riot is learning so they can put on the best product in the years to come.

One thing Riot is good at, is knowing how to run an esports league with their game. Like I don’t want to be an asshole. But Riot knows more about running a successful esports competition than some random guy on the internet, that includes me too. They would have had literal teams of people going over this.

Most of the clips that people are crying about last night weren't even new clips. They're old clips that are now taken out of context.
Shahzam is a vocal dude though, so I understand if he rubs people the wrong way. But I don't really think he's ever said something out of pocket.

Either way, rivalry in esports is fun. It's why I hope 100T does well enough to keep up with SEN, as those two teams with its players have a history. And as a fan of esports in general. It makes it entertaining to watch.

I mean this, you TSM fans are for real. You guys are incredibly loyal. So what I would do is simply hang low and chill with your other fans. Don't go expecting things to change overnight so keep expectations in check. But also know that good things can still come. But for now instead of shooting to be world champs, looks for improvement.

I don't think there's a more loyal group of fans in Valorant. So I do truly hope that while it may not happen this year, that good things happen to you guys. As I think you guys deserve it.

Don't get me wrong, this is a new low. But I don't think FaZe is in as bad of spot as people say. There's some weird stuff going on with the roster that I don't really understand.

Before this lost to DarkZero (who aren't scrubs, the loss was always on the cards), they had only lost to SEN, V1 and T1 since March. T1 is better than people give them credit for, as the same time FaZe lost to T1, T1 also took SEN to a very close 3 maps. And T1 is playing really well currently.

I don't think they split up yet unless there is some stuff in the roster that's public and I don't know about, or there's stuff behind the scenes that needs a change. Like is Marved ever coming back to FaZe, or is the loan to EnVy kind of a TenZ situation with C9 and SEN.

The roster with BabyJ is brand new anyways, so I don't think it's smart to go making a bunch of changes at once, it's not like the team is garbage. It wasn't too long again they were beating everyone in NA that wasn't named SEN. I personally think the old roster with Marved is a Top 5 roster in NA, and their results with him showed that.

So basically what I am trying to say, is before they nuke the roster. They need to figure out what they are doing with the players that have under contract currently. As much as I want them to succeed, this isn't like a TSM situation where something big needs to happen.

Either way though, unless some big name is up for sale that we don't know, I don't think FaZe should make any big moves unless challengers 2 goes bad. Which I would say the same for every team in NA currently that got upset.

Why are you guys so soft. It’s just trash talk, it’s fun. People always say they want some personality in Esports, but when they get it you complain. You guys are taking this personally, more personal than the Cloud 9 players. Have some fun with it.

posted about 2 years ago

Got to love the people who wait on the sidelines for a team to fail, they say they saw it coming when it eventually happens.

SEN has delivered, they won Masters 1, they won Masters 2 without dropping a map. Every team eventually falls off. Saying that a team is gonna drop off in a brand new game whose meta changes constantly isn’t some incredible wisdom. It happened to G2, it happened to TSM, and yeah eventually will happen to SEN. It’s if SEN can bounce back like G2 looks to be doing that means anything (though with a large roster difference).

It sounds like you really took it personal when EU lost in masters 2. The good news, is yes EU has the talent to win and will eventually. So just wait and you will have your time. Until then EU Flash Kekw (It’s a joke)

I think TSM is a team that right now is tier 2, can’t really argue against it. But of the tier 2 teams, it’s the one team that all of a sudden starts playing like Top 3 NA it would make sense.

posted about 2 years ago

Props to DarkZero Esports. Always good to see that when a team gets freshly signed, they start off with a good run. Now I don’t think they’re gonna be a main stay in Tier 1. But nice to see them immediately do well so the energy in the team is good.

I know this feeling from real sports. It’s not a good place to be. Please for your health, try and work on distancing yourself the org. If you want to Stan up Wardell do it, but don’t let the results of TSM dictate your happiness. I strongly recommend to find another team to root for. Maybe look for a smaller org, that way your expectations are in check when they lose and you don’t have to feel depressed.

I still struggle with this occasionally but I’m well past the worst. On days they did well I had a good day, on days they well terrible I was terrible. And they played every second day on average. As you can expect it wasn’t healthy. Please if you can, do your best to work on it. You deserve to be happy, not to be sad because something you can’t control didn’t go a teams way.

Oh he is 100%. Did exactly what everyone in Faze is accused of, Same with Sommer Ray.

Should be a good test for TSM to get back into playing higher tier competition while also getting Bang more comfortable in playing with the team in meaningful games. I’m not a big TSM fan, but it’s good for the NA scene for TSM to have a team capable of playing in the top 5 consistently. So I do hope they are back in top form. Generally I like cheering for the smaller org, but this is one time I don’t want the smaller org to play spoiler so we get a TSM vs 100T match up.

He literally had the best stats in Iceland in the majority of stats including the big ones that matter. Will SEN crash? Maybe, no team is at the top forever. But to not give him credit for his performance in Iceland after how he proved a lot of people wrong about how he was going to choke on LAN is silly at best and deceitful at worst. But that’s fine, enjoy a life where you are literally hoping for a person to fail.

Average Combat Score, a score given to you at the end of the match taking in account a few factors to try and give you a rating for how you did in combat. It can do an alright job of showing how well you were doing in engagements, fragging etc. But shouldn’t be the only stat you use at the end of the match to determine if a player did well, as it usually doesn’t correctly value players on sentinels or controller agents. As a lot of what they do for the team is support based not damaged based. Riot has said they are always looking for better ways to show how a sentinel agent did to include it in the ACS. But putting a number figure on something like an cypher camera or trip wire isn’t the easiest obviously.
