Related question: If teams had to pick their agents before they knew which map they were playing, which comp would be most viable for any map?

Riot is not a government agency, they can only determine so much in their investigations without a warrant to search people’s possessions. All they can really do is ask people questions and threaten to suspend them if they don’t cooperate, so it’s not really surprising that they haven’t found much in either case.

I think for kickoff they might just do what they did at Berlin when there were 15 teams, so 6 normal groups of 4 teams and 2 round-robin groups of 3 teams. To my knowledge, swiss wouldn’t work without some significant modifications

As someone who spent several years in Florida, it always just felt like hurricane season was an excuse to get a week off of school around September. Infrastructure in Florida is really well built to prevent flooding and other damage so it’s really not that problematic unless it’s strong and you live on the beach. It’s a lot worse when it hits a place like Houston that isn’t ready for it.

it’s six players on the active roster, not including a coach

Saw some people saying that Cryo, zander, and stellar were on the same team so I looked it up and found out that for a short time bang was also on the team??? This has got to be the highest concentration of talent outside of a top tier team, and nearly one year later most of these players are strong contenders for franchising: https://www.vlr.gg/46991/evil-geniuses-vs-soar-nerd-street-gamers-winter-championship-open-2-sf

waiting for roster news so here we go

Who I most want to win:

  1. Brazil (my motherland)
  2. Argentina (Messi is cool, just don’t defeat Brazil please)
  3. Canada (would be funny after not qualifying for 36 years)
  4. Japan (revenge for the sad Belgium game in 2018)
  5. Croatia (the people’s champion)

Who I least want to win:

  1. Germany (too close to Brazil in wins)
  2. England (self-explanatory)
  3. France (repeat winner)
  4. Portugal (not a Ronaldo fan)
  5. United States (i’d never stop hearing about it)

as opposed to in american football where it takes over three hours to play a one hour game because they’re constantly resetting and most of the time is wasted?

i could see someone picking him up as a sixth player (or on the reserve roster), he may not be proven now but maybe an org would want to give him proper coaching and practice while they play with their safer main controller

posted about a year ago

Yes, they just need 4 players to be from their general region (Pacific), otherwise no restrictions that I could find.

according to tracker.gg i have 100% on the frenzy (across a grand total of one kill)

most people i’ve seen have been suggesting yay and trent, but yay and crashies would probably work just as well

posted about a year ago

zombs and shroud were both very passive controllers, and would often end up as the last person alive, so it probably has something to do with how the team likes to play. his aim also isn’t great but it wasn’t the worst in 2021 valorant

This has been posted multiple times. That person had 3 followers before this started getting shared and has no previous leaks that would give us a reason to believe it. Between this and the LCS rumor, there’s a lot of fake SEN news going around these days.

So we could potentially get some news about Pacific teams in as little as four hours?

Some key confirmed points:

  • There will be 20+ Challenger leagues for the tier 2 scene, so we can expect areas like Brazil and LATAM, CIS and Turkey, Korea and Japan, etc. to remain separate for qualifying tournaments
  • There will be LANs, so once teams from each Challenger league have qualified to their region’s Ascension Tournament, they will likely have something similar to Masters with “dozens of squads” competing across these three tournaments
  • The top team(s) from each Ascension Tournament will be promoted to their region’s international VCT league

I don’t think TenZ is worth as much now as he was when SEN bought him. He is still cracked and his brand is super valuable, but he allegedly had around two years left on his C9 contract when SEN bought him. If he hasn’t extended that since joining SEN, then it should be a lot cheaper for an org like 100T to buy him out. I think TenZ fits Will’s role on 100T better anyway, so I’d prefer to see something like 100T TenZ, C9 yay, and SEN Cryocells.

There are supposedly some unannounced tournaments coming soon, Fnatic said that they are planning to attend three as of now, so I guess we’ll find out what they are soon enough

posted about a year ago

4 players have to be from your general region (Americas/EMEA/Pacific) but there are no restrictions on how many are from your sub-region (NA/LATAM/BR) so yeah a Brazilian org could have five Canadian players if they wanted to

posted about a year ago

I don’t think C9 has to do a full rebuild, I would not be surprised at all if they only replaced mitch and curry, but even then yay could still fit nicely so it’s fine

he announced that he was leaving G2 about 14 hours ago

posted about a year ago

there’s a minimum salary requirement, so if you have to pick a sixth player you might as well choose someone who is worth at least that much in case you ever have to use them (due to another player’s prolonged injury/sickness maybe)

posted about a year ago

what if some of the players they want still have several months left on their contract? would they really pass up the opportunity to have those players for Kickoff or Masters to save money?

he was also making a lot of jokes about joining Sentinels and put up a poll and said “i’ll join the team that gets the most votes”

he’s streaming rn, probably something he said a few minutes ago

posted about a year ago

it definitely won’t be as high-quality, but it has the potential to even be much more competitive because of the stakes involved. you’re not just fighting for a championship title or prize money, you’re fighting to allow your team to compete internationally for two years which is absolutely massive

posted about a year ago

yeah, i’m just saying that it doesn’t hurt the small streamers either, the only purpose of this is to make twitch slightly more profitable so Amazon doesn’t shut it down

posted about a year ago

Small correction: the 50/50 split only applies after $100,000 of subscription revenue, and anything earned before that is still on the 70/30 split so this will only have an effect on the really big streamers

they are required to have six players by October 15th, and can add/remove players after that but need to make sure the new players meet the travel/work requirements. it’s a pretty scummy move to sign someone if you plan to release them a month later so i assume most of the rosters that we see on october 15th will be very similar to the ones at the kickoff tournament

“The VCT 2023 pre-season transfer window will open on September 26, 2022” - Roster Construction Rules

posted about a year ago

i think we’ll start to get some actual news on the 26th since that’s when the transfer window officially begins

posted about a year ago

my guess would be that it’s very similar to the LoL format, so yeah each team plays every other team twice and the top teams move on to playoffs

posted about a year ago

is everyone ignoring the part where he says “to fill out maybe the last spot or two we might need trials” implying that they’re planning to get 3+ new players? i’m sure for players like trent/zekken it’s pretty obvious that they’d be good for the team

posted about a year ago

i think Gambit and LOUD are the only teams that didn’t have any “weak” players when they won their event

posted about a year ago

it’s certainly possible, and it’s part of my ideal SEN roster but we’ll have to see if he gets taken by EG or NRG. i don’t think C9 or 100T are as likely to go for him because leaf and Asuna already play Neon/Raze,

posted about a year ago

or maybe TenZ is ok with it? it has been two years and Marved apologized so maybe TenZ and Kyedae are over it. a lot can happen behind the scenes so i wouldn’t count it out so easily. that being said it is still bait

posted about a year ago

I’m not saying that. I’m saying that court cases can take a long time, and if someone were charged with murder or something you wouldn’t want to keep them around for months or years until they get sent to prison. If the allegations turn out to be true, then your company looks really bad for having supported that person during that time, but if you cut ties and the charges are dropped then you can always reopen that relationship and everything is relatively ok.

posted about a year ago

Regarding the sinatraa decision, I think it’s fine for Riot to say “you can’t play until the police investigation has been concluded and your court case has been settled,” because at that point he was still potentially guilty (and might still be guilty but it doesn’t matter now because officially it’s probably over). What happens after the investigation has concluded is more important, and as far as I know the only thing preventing sinatraa from playing now is his public image

280 ACS on Jett at Berlin, 243 ACS on Jett at Champions 2021. Yes he is probably rusty after playing 58 games straight of Chamber, but he’s not bad at Jett

posted about a year ago

This wasn’t cherry-picked. It’s literally just the primary duelist and IGL of each NA team to make LAN in the past four tournaments. The only thing I actually chose was leaf/vanity over TenZ/ShahZaM from Champions 2021 because C9 made it further.
