if there wasn't, the whole war just fucked the eastern european scene
their moves are just questionable tbf, I don't know why riot got them in at the first place. Haven't done anything to make valorant more popular in Ukraine/Eastern Europe, questionable moves, consistent downward trend

That's a realistic situation, problem is that there is no situation which helps out the benched player. In NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB a player can get traded because teams have more than cash
Players like pancada aren't scene defining, likes of aspas and derke sure are
What if a decent player is locked behind a huge buyout? Let's say kajak goes to fnatic, he signs a 3 year contract, with a buyout of, I dunno, let's say 300k. He does well in year 1 but some mega cracked duelist like aspas is on the market as a Free Agent, fnatic get him because he is an S tier player but Kajaak, who is A-tier is benched for him. Now all orgs know he is a great player but the buyout is just too big to warrant him playing. And Kajaak signed this contract with fnatic cuz he wants to compete for trophies, not cuz of clout. Who is to blame here?
Nah bro I need you to become my personal hater, the second you make a post arsenal score lmfao
But then they are benched with their reputation fucked over? They are protected economically, not from the result standpoint. They are athletes, their bread and butter is their competitive results. If you don't compete for 1.5 years your stocks are in the shitter. Yes, they will be protected for those 3 years, but then what happens afterwards? No tier 1 org will sign a player who missed 1.5 years of competition so he either becomes a content creator or goes to tier 2
How does it protect them if you can sign a 3 year contract and end up on the bench halfway into the contract?
Fnatic can sacrifice a few wins if it means vitality also lose a few of them
I doubt they would pull this shit if their slot wasn't protected
Bench isn't the only problem, the fact that he has to settle for worse competitive record just because fnatic want so is wild
So then the scene is unstable af and we have 8 new super teams every year, seems like a sustainable system
Doesn't this whole derke situation basically tell all players to sign short term contracts? If you sign a long contract and you have an issue with the org they will just force you to the other side of the globe or to a shit team, or just force you to sit out the year. The only solution I see are player options, like in the nba (like a 1+1 contract, where the 2nd year is all up to the player to decide).
Community won't do anything, some sort of player association could
If the rumours are true, vitality paid the buyout, fnatic don't want derke to go there. Money is not the issue, the destination is
Vitality got a massive massive cash cow in their CS roster, there even is a possibility they farmed 10 million last year due to stickers
Even if they did learn a lesson, there is no one to protect their rights, that's why vct needs a player association. Forcing players to take pay cuts is fucked up, forcing players into contract issues is fucked up, denying buyouts(if that's a thing) is fucked up. There needs to be a mechanism protecting the players
What even is the point of the buyout if the org just goes "no lmao"
That's why people claim fnatic are frauds, players just ignore the situation and do we really think derke just willingly accepted a year of bench?
But then having clauses against particular orgs is shady as well
Perhaps derke doesn't want to shut the door to fnatic forever? Fnatic are his colleagues for 4 years, right now they are acting like scammers but I doubt Derke's opinion of them is 100% negative
I have a feeling riot will get involved. Two Champs representing teams in a weeks long quarrel about a transfer where two parties can't seem to find a solution which can result in one of the best valorant players of all time missing a year of competition just screams "Announcement for VCT 2025 season"
Is it possible to have a clause saying stuff like "prevent buyout from teams who participated at Champs of last calendar year?"
Most simple solution (albeit I don't know if it's legal) is that they give money to Derke directly, or he pays his own buyout and then he becomes UFA
Team directors lie when the team needs it
Yet there are several leaks claiming they are rejecting vitality's bids and accepting everyone else.
Also, listening to ANY party which comes out right now with an announcement is silly, obviously CoJo will deny any rumours of them refusing to sell derke to vitality
Vitality matched and even outbid the buyout, problem is that fnatic are rejecting all bids from vitality
Didn't he leave before G2 got denied from the initial franchising?
Is the entire carlos situation not an issue now?
Whatever navi are doing is stupid af
I think its hilarious u kids talking about crazyguy. u wouldnt say this stuff to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol
Fnatic are FINE with letting Derke go away for free next year if it means vitality don't get him this year, and that's just a scam
It really isn't due to franchising but rather its system. Fnatic are fine settling for 8-3 in their regional league instead of a 9-2, but they are not fine with vitality going from 7-4 to 9-2, therefore they can afford to win less. In an open circuit this can't really happen
well this shit can happen to anyone. You are not happy with the org and you still have a year left on the contract? Benched with a huge buyout. You want to move to another region? benched with a huge buyout. You finally find an org you think fits you? Your org blocks the transfer request.
It would be a great reason to create a player association which would fight for player rights. The fact that Franchising protects the orgs makes player positions unstable af
Would be mad funny if two of the most consistent duelists in the entire game history missed this year cuz of their orgs not wanting them to leave anywhere
why would he? No institution to support the players, ''he signed the contract, no one forced him out''
I feel like you can log off and watch some youtube and some moth will kamikaze bomb your monitor and somehow break it
announce vitality coming to deadlock
derke is there (proof: derke playing deadlock right now)
derke is bought out to vitality's deadlock roster -> vitality transfer him to valorant divison as they close off deadlock
EZ
what if that's why he is still rumoured to join?
but then he is unrestricted if he buys himself out
I have just remembered that Yekindar had to buy himself out of Virtus Pro to join Liquid because contact with russian orgs was forbidden and then he said that he ''bought himself out''. I assume that he paid with his own salary and Liquid just paid him this back, so what if Derke and Vitality pull the same?
