Actually there are orgs that tries to develop domestic talent by building academy teams however they lacked the audience like Zeta.

I used to think this will be helpful, I still think this is, many current scenes talents at some point played in Academy teams , but now this is probably just an excuse for orgs to keep importing players wihile pretending to "develop" the talents

It's not even size that's the problem it's the commitment.

The moment Zeta formed Valorant Division, they went with the best Japanese roster they find at the time. Even before franchising started they eyed for young prospects in Japan ( Hiroronn Yuran Caedye Aace and Yatsuka with Vorz as the coach).
The next year they doubled down by recruiting 10 academy players.
And now even with their shit management, they're still deeply commited to helping the scene.
They understand the gap between japan and the rest is still chasable and try to close the gap.
Few orgs have this commitment to the scene which is why I still prefer to support Zeta even though their management is driving me insane.

Compared to DFM where the moment they started they started with 2 Koreans 3 Japanese core.
If it wasn't for LOB's injury DFM would've actually gone for 3 Koreans 2 Japanese this year.
If Riot didn't provide incentive to DFM they wouldn't even care to create an academy team just like Zeta.
They seemed to think that this is league and tries to turn this into league which is just harmful.
This is not the Japanese org we need in the scene

Oooooh you meant NA League, if so I agree with you, in fact, LJL ( japan league) and what used to be LCS are the primary reason I'm very against imports. There's nothing you can do when multiple orgs' owners ( including jack ettiene which is why i kinda don't like him) actively tried to prevent Riot for restricting import rules. In LJL there are academy team but due to the large gap between Japan and the rest, unfortunately it's way too late.

However in Valorant it's different, the Gap between regions are still close, there are still ways to prevent to prevent league situation from happening. Which is why I HATED it when japan orgs actively search for young imports and choose to abandon their own local talent, they acted like this is League and a not a different game with different situation( you can clearly see this with how DFM operates, they clearly think they are in league when they tried to form a 3 korean roster ). For every imports they picked we are moving 1 step behind in terms of development.

I change my mind, NA valorant needs all the development it can gets just like any other region and that includes academy teams

When marin left NFX I thought they will make him full duelist because Marin played raze or bring eko back to initiator, but then they brought yowamu, that's when I realized eko is probably not a duelist player lol, low-key nfx has role issues but eko's neon is good enough to make up for it.
