How hard is it the two winners of the promotion tournament join the top 10 challengers 1

Open qualifiers are for VRL leagues starting from challengers 2 u win VRL then the whole process starts again

But there is no Masters 3. LCQ only consider teams with circuit points. If Masters 2 challengers contain only invitees, what is the purpose of VRL from now on?

next year

That's most probably wrong. Even this year champions will not have a affect on next year quallifiers because it is held earlier.

Teams that qualify to the VRL will continue to be there in 2023 so they can have an opportunity to go to Masters in 2023.

VRL is to promote local regional teams to vct

promotion and relegation seems like a lot of BS for only 2 slots in challengers

You have to give teams some stability

Simple stuff.

12 teams in VCT EMEA.
Two worst VCT teams (this Stage, BIG and SMB) play the VCT Promotion. 2 slots will be available for VRL teams to steal or for the VCT teams to keep.
The other 10 teams keep their slots, nothing changes.
The only slots that change are the last two of each group.

Open qualifier are a heavy gamble.

Vierwership in EMEA last year was garbage, the truth is that most people do not watch open qualifiers with a bunch of random teams. The current format give the teams more stability and is easier to follow.

Then why not do the same with APAC ?

EMEA is way more important for Riot than APAC, it's natural that they receive things first. That being said, I'm pretty sure Riot will bring something similar for APAC in the future.

Idea for format for APAC Promotion:

Teams that didn't make it to group stage (Lost in play-ins) would participate in APAC Promotion

Just like EMEA each region send 1 team to APAC Promotion ( 1 SA, 1 OCE, 1 ID, 1 TH, 1 PH, 1 MYSG, 1 VN, 1 HKTW)

Promotion Group Stage: Two Groups (Double Elimination) GSL Style (the ones that qualified through regional vrl)

Promotion Playoffs: 4 teams from play-ins and 4 teams that got through Group Stage (Double Elimination)

Top 4 Qualify for Play-ins

(Also for play-ins the ones that got eliminated in groups go back to play-ins)
(Oh and knockouts stage teams get slotted into group stage automatically)

Final Note: This is random and probably too time consuming :

Damn, i don't really like that tbh. Basically permanent member at that point.

Permanent BIG member at that. My guess is that they want EMEA VCT to be like LEC with big teams bringing the views. But with relegation and promotion stuff to keep it "fair".
