Why the GSR move makes 100% sense

GSR and Purpo are both talented individually (i'd argue GSR even higher) the issue is Purpo's agent pool.

Liquid has been struggling a lot to choose comps that work for them. Since double duelist is the way right now purpo has to play it but he can only perform on Jett right now. That is a huge restriction since Jett is mid on Most maps. He doesnt really play Waylay, Raze, Yoru, Pheonix and Neon. They need someone who can do that. GSR is a true flex. Strong on secondary duelists like yoru and Pheonix especially. Now Liquid can pick far more optimal comps than previously and their ceiling is now much much higher than by forcing suboptimal comfort focused comps.

This team with 4 weeks of prep time for champs can easily work on a LOT of stuff to integrate GSR and make good comps and fill the new stratbook. You should not sleep on this version of Liquid im telling you. They WILL make it out of groups minimum. Likely higher.

I agree. We'll have to wait and see but I do agree in the sense, I see why they made the move right now.

GSR has been playing a lot of Neon and Yoru, which feels like the agents that purp0 was meant to play, but he probably was not comfortable with it. Kamo is pretty much gonna be on Phoenix-Raze whilst GSR plays Neon-Yoru. It sucks purp0 had to go out like this, but he was honestly at his best on Skye and initiator. His duelist as of late was not great. Maybe he knew that he was getting replaced anyway and didn't perform on purpose - who knows?
