I love my country but Ibr 80% of the reason I want the national team to win trophies is because there's so many Arsenal players

I love watching the team, getting fully on board, being delusional about us winning , and getting insanely hyped when we win, but I just like the journey without caring about the destination

When Arsenal lost the CL final I was physically unwell for like a week 😭😭😭😭😭

When England bottled it vs Argentina I just was a bit tired cause it was late and it was such an intense game, but I wasn't really bothered the next day

i don't know how many people are similar

for me international football is just a fun break from the stress of club football

i care more about country
i love man utd but ive never felt the things i felt when norway beat brazil this wc

normally i agree but this world cup was different, i was listening to rule britannia and jerusalem in the gym towards the end

wolves last season made me slowly withdraw from watching football because we were so unbelievably shit and england did the inverse, we actually had a decent shot

u couldnt even beat us fairly, spain wouldve been impossible for u guys

lets not talk about the foul in the buildup to norways first goal buster

#6

lmaoo it wasnt even a foul
we should talk about elliot anderson diving for heggem's goal, and the ball hitting the camera wire before englands first goal
and even if ur right, that our first goal had a foul in the buildup, if things were fair the game wouldve ended 1-0 to norway, with heggem scoring the winner

biased choice of pics but whatever
anderson literally went in for it, you can see the split second in his face when he realises "wait, i can just fall here and get a free kick and potentially disallow a goal" like he doesnt even fall naturally
and also, are we gonna punish haaland for being stronger than anderson? do u think norway wouldve got a penalty if anderson did that to haaland? yea me neither

#10

nobody would get a penalty for that happening because fouls by the defender are always held to a higher standard inside their own box than fouls by the attacker, because the punishment is stronger

referees are much more hesitant to give a penalty (game changing outcome) than cancelling a corner

#12

thats a silly rule because it allows shameless players like anderson to dive as much as they want in their own box, hes a grown man he shouldnt fall like that
like i know haaland is strong but should we punish him for being strong?

It's still a foul regardless of if it's actually strong enough to truly take him down

There's no point trying to firm it and stay up when you know you've been fouled

this happens every game

#22

it does happen every game, but its an issue
i wouldve been way happier if england were just simply better than us, and we lost like 2-0 pretty comfortably
but i feel abit robbed, and its gonna take a while for me to get over it

I enjoy the spirit and banter more than winning

You do have the ASEAN Cup and the Asian Cup both coming up

yeah the football is at the highest it's been in a while, asian cup qualification was headline news here
but 2x0.1 is still 0.2.

You're not gonna become France overnight

Compare Canada 10 years ago to Canada now. Singapore could absolutely do that

we’ll see we’ll see
singapore football has been in the trenches since forever we just care about beating malaysia
but now that we’re starting to turn on our monitors people are having higher expectations

Your next objective as a national team (after the ASEAN Cup I mean) is to beat Tajikistan at the Asian Cup. If you can do that then the revolution is legit

i take france over PSG by far..

#18

There isn't really much else for psg to win tbf

Your season doesn't really matter till like September and even then it's to challenge for a trophy you've won b2b

I can understand why France takes priority

#24

Yeah true, France means more to watch because they don't win anything

Their only trophy since Mbappé was a teenager is the 2021 Nations League

#51

They win almost every single game besides though🥀

So from what I'm hearing they only win games when it doesn't matter (and even that's not true because in the past two years they've drawn Canada in Paris, drawn Iceland (almost twice), and lost to Côte d'Ivoire in Paris)

Let's be honest bro the only differences between Die Mannschaft and the Azzurri is you guys actually qualify to World Cups since your groups are easier and also your FA isn't corrupt

You're both fallen giants who will only return to any sort of glory if you massively overhaul everything

Yeah I know I'm just saying there's a bit of humorous irony in Germany laughing at Italy for being washed. They're the only ones more washed than you guys

Give me that 2014 team back man I miss them so much

#49

oh yea makes sense 2014 was really good yea but i feel like the team is on a better way as it seem new trainer and good young players

I dont watch alot of football anymore but germany is doing a bit better then the last years

Yeah I'm hoping Germany is on an upward trend. I thought they were heading into this World Cup but Undav saved them against Côte d'Ivoire and they lost to both Ecuador and Paraguay. Now Neuer's gone again, Kimmich is needing retirement, end they have Jürgen Klopp as their manager? I'm really hoping their youth development is good

COUNTRY OVER CLUB DONT EVEN TEST ME (spain/barca fan)
no this isn't because we just won the world cup (although it was nice), just in general country accomplishments matter WAY more to me. I cried when we won the UCL in 2015 but I CRIED when we won the WC this year

also i support the women's team and they've won stuff too (but watching FCB femeni is HIGHKEY boring asf because omg it's just blowout after blowout like i mean ig)

We've won nothing, period, but I'm not out here complaining that we've got nothing else left to play for because that just isn't true

On the topic, though, we SHOULD be winning a trophy this cycle or it might be a problem atp

Country over club and it's not even close. It's impossible to get from club football what you get from the international game

There's only two reasons I would really watch club, honestly... either to keep up with players for my national team (or other national teams that I like), or just because the club calendar is like 95% of the year

not to be the friend thats too woke but as someone who is a casual football fan my priorities are
my local non-league team (because I can afford to go to games)
then England (just so people dont get violent/beat their wives)
then Liverpool (i want them to win but im not super invested)

this isn't even a question

my country (philippines) is not that good in football

i have supported barca since the first time i saw messi's games on TV

i have already witnessed them lifting a UCL so i would like it if my national team was good too

so i choose country
