aspas is the closest thing valorant has to a s1mple (not glaze, just pure facts, bro is amazing mechanically, plays for a long time, has a loyal huge fanbase and reinvents himself constantly), so he will be held to a way higher than any other pro. S1mple also had the same shit. If s1mple went 0.94 - half of hltv would write s0.94mple, but if m0nesy does it - they defend it. It's just the price the most popular player has to pay imo. Riens is the m0nesy in this situation, people understand that stars can have shit games, but for someone like aspas they raise the standards to the moon. And also riens is just ''talented player'', aspas is straight up ''face of brazil as a region''
I think that’s a reasonable reply but all of riens’ contemporaries face more criticism than him, such as Trent or brawk. Like Trent and brawk were criticized more at London despite both of them playing a lot better than he did. Those two are hardly popular

I would argue that Brawk is the most popular amongst the 3 with him being the odin abusing champs mvp. Trent I would say is close to Riens popularity wise but his 3 peat and "golden era" shit is the reason he has a target on his back
I feel like NA simply has more rivalry within its region, as well as more hated than any other region (cuz american fans might be one of the most loyal to their region). Like even here on vlr.gg and twitter and any social media platform, 100T vs NRG vs G2 vs SEN is just a 4 way fight where you as this cluster of fans just shit on each other to prove an agenda. Everyone in americas hates g2 cuz they were the regional dominator before, hence if trent plays like shit they are more likely to shit on him. same with brawk and NRG, some people hate NRG because of their champs win, so they hate brawk by proxy. Just speaking as an outsider in a vct community, but y'all in NA hate each other and other teams like english football fans. NA is just simply a more toxic and banter region, Heretics don't really have an actual rivalry where riens could get shit on. G2 and NRG are in the most banter-filled region so should one of them underperform - they get shit on
