Chess is arguably the same way btw
Well I mean that's more because Chess has such an enormous skill ceiling and requires a stupid amount of studying/memorization just to be decent at it, so its just not something that any normal person can just pick up and become good unlike with something like Valorant.
Doesn't VALORANT also have an enormous skill ceiling and require a heck ton of hours to be "decent" at it?
Valorants skill ceiling doesn't even come close to chess's and neither does the time required to learn the game. Like it takes 10-15 years just to reach the level of grandmaster for even the most talented players in Chess while you have kids who can reach radiant if a year if they have the talent valorant.
Percentage wise, radiant is equivalent to something like 2400-2450 elo in chess
Just because percentage wise being radiant is similar to something like 2400-2450 elo in chess doesn't mean that becoming a radiant in Valorant is as hard as becoming a top chess player. And also 2400-2450 elo isn't even a GM in chess, only 2500+ is so its not even an equal comparison between the highest level of both games.
difference is there's way more competition in chess than fucking valorant
Even if that is a fair comparison, it doesn't change the difference in skill and effort it takes to become radiant compared to a GM.
im considering quitting entirely this meta has been a circus show and the patch they did to """ban""" boosters and revert the ranks of the people who got boosted barely did shit not to mention the amount of wintraders+cheaters too
I log on every so often just to check my shop, check a new map/agent if there is one, or to queue a ranked game or too and then I don't play again for like a month+
Actually bro like 3 ranked games and im in the bath with the toaster hanging by a thread
if they actually fixed mmr and gave out new rewards for ranked people would probably play, apex legends atleast gives a different looking buddy every ranked season even if its the same
i played for the first time all summer the other day and i actually fried decent experience 7-8/10
Just 2-3 games every week then I get bored. Stopped watching too, only some matches that are actually good.
I still play solo bcs my friends either are too busy with other thing/don't like the game anymore and I've been enjoying my time with randoms, my lobbys are pretty nice aside from ragequitters/trolls from time to time
i played the game today for the first time in 3 months, played two games, i actually enjoyed them surprisingly
