The champs point system makes sense for split 1 and tournaments but why is it exactly the same for split 2? The winner and 2nd place already qualify for Champs so why do they get +8 and +6 when it essentially doesn't even matter. Shouldn't the points be divided between 3rd to 6th with less points earned? 3rd shouldn't get +8 but idk the points should be changed a little. Unless theres something else im not aware of?

no, purely for aesthetics. 1st and 2nd seed are the top 2 in stage playoffs, i am pretty sure. my guess is that these points allow you compare the most consistent teams in each by looking the at their champ points. look at the last year https://www.vlr.gg/vct-2025/standings
Pretty interesting to see which teams are consistent by looking at champs points but id rather have a spicy split 2 with teams going at it because they may qualify by earning a massive amount of points in playoffs
