Well I mean he's already pretty mid in the first place but you also have to consider that he's basically always counter picked(since that allows one of the actually good players on t1 to not be counter picked) which makes him look even worse.

I'd argue against bwipo, he's kind of washed now. Also no matter how much you like baus, you cannot call him better than doran, he'd probably get smoked by him if they were to lane against each other.
bwipo, ok. But baus is better. Doran ints for no reason. Baus ints to win. theres a difference
To be fair, his best champions were banned by G2. His Jayce was banned 3 times, his ambessa 2 times.
And Doran is not useless, I think he is just being overhated. They almost lost a game to TLAW on their 2nd match but he clutched it with his Jayce.
Its not like he was useless the entire series, yes he got solo killed multiple times, but most of the time T1 get something on the other side of the map after Doran died.
And if you check LCK ranking of players, only Keria and Peyz were ranked 1, even Oner is not on his usual form, he was ranked 6 out of all junglers, Faker was ranked 5th out of all midlaners and Doran ranked 5th on the topside.
But Doran is part of top 5 when it comes to solo killers at the lck, I think he even ranked number 1 last year summer.
The criticism is fair because he played poorly and even he himself admitted it during interview, but I think calling Doran useless and saying so many rude things about him is not fair at all. Yes he struggled, yes he played poorly but it is not fair to judge a player based on his bad series, or bad year. Remember he bloomed while he is being coached by Kkoma, Kkoma took a leave of absence, maybe Tom's coaching is different and maybe Doran is still adjusting, easyhoon is a new coach too. And to his haters, dont worry on one of Doran's stream he already mentioned that he has other goals that he wants to accomplish because he is not getting any younger, so the chance of him retiring after his contract is a big possibility, Kiin might be retiring too because he will serve at the military.
i can’t pin the fault entirely on doran because the coaching staff allowed him to get counterpicked four times in a row and forced him to blind champions into a player that is known for his pocket picks
i will blame him however on making said pocket picks get insane value when it genuinely isn’t necessary, like kled g4
I think they lost yesterday cause peyz was on a mage for like 50% of the series LMAO and doran got gapped by brokenbrain

i actually think that it isnt entirely dorans fault, he is still a decent player especially on tanks, problem is that a team cant have both a mid and a top laner that is weak in lane, you will just not win internationals like that most of the time except if the midlane meta is very roam heavy and top lane meta is lane swaps. (like worlds and msi last year)
tom saw his ass handed by velkoz bot and swain mid and made the genius idea to make doran bin and faker knight and make peyz be weakside the entire game. Oh wow what a brilliant stratagy

eitherways doran isn't 100% the blame cuz everyone other than peyz including the fucking water boy shitted the bed. The drafts were the real issue. m*ge bot resulted in teams like blg and hle to prioritize the laners to do the carrying instead of their adcs because mages bot can play the lane so safe that the supports can roam top and impact the rest of the lobby. T1 revolved around peyz and keria playing hypercarry + enchanter or pretty much some botlane wincon and they tried to adopt to a meta that they are not comftorble becausew doran gets individually gapped by atleast 15 toplaners in lane and faker lost his laning skills after ruler and perkz nuked him to azir duty.
The real fault is that these mfs made doran blindpick every game and allowed bb to play the most disgusting top counter picks to mankind. Its a huge top diff, but its mainly a coaching diff
