When did I ever say I didn't care about this tourney? I call it a mickey mouse because it is, but I can still enjoy watching vct teams play valorant despite the tournament not actually mattering all that .uch in the end. It's for the same reason I enjoy watching off-season events like rbhg despite them having no implications on basically anything.

what's the difference lol, the reasoning behind supporting your country is the same regardless of the medium. the people represent the country and they're your fellow countrymen. there's nothing wrong with feeling familiarity and pride when someone from your country is on the big stage

I am not saying it's wrong but in val esports most just fake it. It's so performative in val esports especially among apac fans. I should have worded my first comment better.
Also as for your 2nd question I am just not patriotic ig lol. Cause even if my country is best in sports or esports I don't really care for it. I just care about certain teams or players not regions or country honestly.
i guess. i can never tell who is faking or not because i dont know or care enough to figure it out tbh.
all i care about is my country >= my region >= foreign teams i like (in val, anyway. because korea is a good region. the mindset changes in games like csgo or club football where i just support my favourite players/teams)
i don't really see a problem with fakeflaggers. if they're repping a random country they're not actually from i'll never know and i don't care. if they rep korea then i think it's a plus. i like it when people like my country or support my country/my country's teams
