Actually I don't really think Madrid was really mickey mouse, like all 3 international winners were there, TH was there, PRX was also there, and then there was even FPX which was a pretty big darkhorse team. Pretty much the only 2 mickey teams were Loud and KC.
FPX is underrated, if you actually took a look at their matches that year they lost by a game of inches both domestically to EDG and internationally to heavy hitters like TH or GenG (except their very last game to Sen in champs groups where they got blown out)
If any one of those matches had gone FPX’s way, the course of 2024 would’ve looked drastically different imo (especially if they won a grand final domestically since that would’ve changed seeding for Chinese teams with EDG being second and FPX possibly not being in group of death in champs for an example)
by this logic is tokyo also mickey considering PRX had to sub for something and yk Demon1's issues as well?

Hot take - even a team not being able to attend doesn't make it Mickey.
Analogy - A team's star player is hurt and they lose the championship doesn't discount from the other team earning it over whatever form of competition they faced.
At the end of the day they are overcoming a multitude of Tier 1 talent and earning their trophy.
