Alym wasn't even bad during kickoff, he was perfectly fine and he perfectly slot into Furia. He was terrible during the off-season so I'm not even sure what you mean by this
How many weeks was the off-season+kickoff? Now compare that to how much time jerrwin has had to play on Sen and you'll see why time and experience matters for rookie players.
Also jerrwin is an entry duelist, his job is to make space(which he has), its more up to the rest of the team to capitalize on that space.
