I have been seen a shit ton of complains about neon judge and slide from valorant players, all demanding a neon nerf.
I been playing comp kinda regularly atleast 8 games a week but haven't experienced this problems, tbf I am low elo. So does this problem actually exist in competive or in VCT?

The thing is you don't have a chance to kill the neon, it makes an ascendant aimer look like a demon, shooting mid slide doesn't give you a chance to shoot back, flashes you can dodge, but slide you just die

Yes

The shooting accuracy while sliding is fundamentally unhealthy for the game

The moment that gets nerfed, a huge chunk of all Neon mains are going down an entire rank tier at minimum

I argue it's as much of a crutch as old Jett dash or Chamber TP were. A good Neon player will use the slide to secure a guaranteed kill with almost zero possible counterplay unless you actively plan around that ability and that ability only.

Neon's always been annoying to play against (that's what fast characters in a slow-paced game do), but the slide accuracy's the only thing that genuinely tilts me

That’s not a good thing for the game or character, the big thing about valorant is the mix of essential gunplay and ability usage, making her easy to kill during slide removes ALL purpose of the ability, and the problem with the balance is players like you who keep asking for nerfs instead of buffing the already dead sentinel role, this game has the exact opposite problem to powercreep everything just gets weaker and weaker and weaker, nobody gets buffed, and ppl still want abilities to just be used credits? At this rate people won’t even buy abilities on rounds they don’t have sufficient Econ

Neon is not a plug and play agent, despite how strong she is. She still needs practice and you will definitely embarass yourself if you just instalock her in ranked without prior practise.

The main thing is how there is no true Counter. Lets compare Neon to the duelist she is seen replacing. Jett, who has an analogous ability to the slide. A dash
Neon, can shoot while moving(the slide), Jett, has to complete moving first then shoot. She cant shoot mid dash
If you notice. Jett and Neon can be both killed mid movement. But neon, she can fight back, jett cant. I imagine if we could have jett fight back the same way jett would've been called OP.
Sure counters like slows and stuns exist. But they're conditional. If you land it only does it work. It is not a true player counter.
What i mean by this is, lets say im playing deadlock, and i encounter a cypher trip, i can shoot it. If i encounter a vyse wall i can bait it by jump peeking or getting my team to peek in all at once. If i encounter a yoru tp i can break it or hold it as bait, if i get a flash i can turn it, if i have a molly i can move away. But Neon, if i encounter a sliding Neon, she can shoot me like 7-8 times out of 10, but i, have to track her moving at Mach 3(especially with the judge, cuz then they're so close its harder to track cuz its more distance they cover on your screen), to shoot her.
Sure You can counter it with teammates, but thats conditional. Not a true counter. And especially against a good neon duo(best example is dambi francis in santiago) , you find it impossible to fight cuz both of them can kill you and you need to channel prime demon 1 aspas and tenZ or what ever just to survive.

I'd argue it doesn't matter how good neon actually is but how it feels to play against her, and it feels very bad, especially with a shotgun.

I could get farmed ten games straight by jett players and it wouldn't feel as bad as getting run down by a neon with a judge one time. I'll also add that neon practically uses a different skill set from other characters, if someone is good at any other agent most of their skill translates to other characters, whereas with neon you can get to a higher rank while being significantly worse on every other character

Riot is going at it the wrong way. Neon isn't strong because her kit is strong, she has been nerfed enough, one slide, slower charge and the acc on her slide was also nerfed. She is strong because sentinels are useless. There is no utility in the game that can stop her. If they want to nerf neon they have to buff the sent class.

Yep... As she crosses across your screen at mach 3 able to kill you 8/10 times...
I would like a "Reliable" Way to kill her
High sens and tracking is unreliable and can fail like 40% of the time

Learn the patern of a neon player you play against. Most of them move the same way and slide/stun in the same spots. Just observe and position accordingly.

True. Problem is, she can slide from practically any where. Sure they have tendencies, but she could slide in your face, left, right, backward, be bait for her team..
Sure bad neons can be countered, somewhat good neons?

No, what you want is the ability to be useless, for gods sake it’s an ability it’s supposed to give an advantage, it’s like arguing that phoenix flash is too strong because you can’t dodge it and your losing most of your duels when full flashed, like duh that’s the point of the ability, neon dash can’t just be cosmetic to look at the hind and never use it, any more needs to the slide would just kill her, and make this game CS

her kit itself isn’t broken (outside of the sliding accuracy, which doesn’t really fit a tactical FPS), it’s more the synergy with shotguns is very strong and all of the counters in the sentinel class have been nerfed heavily. its more of a “strong because all others are weak” rather than the meta being because she is strong

I mean, sure sentinels counter her, but as a player of just a gun(reyna for example), how can you counter a sliding neon?
This is the way to fix her, define some way of somewhat reliably killing her (like an 80% kill chance)

Neon will come to you by running left and right and you will shoot at him but your bullets won't register because val is a shitty game in your screen it will show you hit 5 bullets but after dying Val will show you hit 2 bullets and that neon will T bag on your body with a judge and run away additionally this will keep happening with your teammates and you every round because judge and full shield is a cheap buy, this shit sucks

It really just has to do with them not re-buffing the sentinel role cause all that is left in ranked is Veto/Chamber/KJ/Vyse none of these really stop Neon except the Vyse but if your not the senti player you will prob see 90% Chambers more than the others
