yes, he had to take the 1v1. if he hid in the smoke and waited for demon1 to come in, demon1 could've either spammed the defuser or could've killed defuser before penny killed demon1
he did not have to take the 1v1, penny had enoyugh time to sit in smoke and trade v1c and then get back on bomb
I just feel like he could’ve played the time a bit better though no? Let’s say he swung a second later the defuse would’ve happened for C9
I mean, it was a split second decision, it could been decided better?
maybe, but it wasn't as much as penny's fault it was more like Demon1's merit.
